Certilogo uses digital technology to help brands manage the lifecycle of their clothing, and to help consumers be able to authenticate products and access information about them.

eBay's desire to acquire the service indicates that the site is keen to develop an authentication system for clothing. eBay vice president Charis Marquez said it would also allow brands to "protect their customers from counterfeiters and engage in reselling items with tamper-proof digital product passports."
