An AI Alliance has been created to accelerate the development of neural networks.

The introduction of AI at the state level is just around the corner

On December 4, the Singapore government released its updated NAIS 2.0 national AI strategy, outlining how it plans to innovate and address the technology.

Singapore has divided its AI strategy into three separate systems, consisting of ten "drivers" that put these systems in motion and 15 steps to make the system work.

Among these steps is Singapore's plan to establish new AI "Centers of Excellence" (COEs) among companies operating in the country to encourage "the creation and use of sophisticated AI technologies in key sectors." The updated AI development plan also includes benchmarks to equip government agencies with "specialized knowledge, technical capabilities and regulatory tools" and to "hone" the AI skills of all Singaporean civil servants.

In addition, Singapore plans to increase the number of "AI practitioners" or local experts to 15,000 by expanding AI training, technology and AI talent pool programs, and "remains open" to global talent. The report said various AI-focused technology training programs have so far placed more than 2,700 people in "good jobs". Singapore plans to implement its measures over the next 3-5 years to support its ambitions in the AI sector.
