👋Доброе утро, товарищи!

🔻The ACCUSATIVE case marks the direct object of a sentence, answers the questions Кого? Что? (Whom? What?).

🔻Accusative case is used after the prepositions 'в', 'за', 'на', 'про', 'через':

🔻Some verbs which require the accusative case are:

🔵Видеть (to see)
🔵Изучать (to study)
🔵Влиять на (to influence)
🔵Влюбиться в ( to fall in love with)
🔵Беспокоиться за (to worry about)
🔵Рассказывать про (to tell about)
🔵Перелезть через (to climb/get over)

Example (see the video):

•  Я вижу мясо!!!
   [ya vi-zhu mya-sa]
   I see (some) meat!!!

• И один в поле воин, если он по-русски скроен.
[i a-din f po-le vo-in yes-li on pa-rus-ski skro-yen]
SLT: And one man in the field is a warrior, if he is made in the Russian way.

🔻This relatively young proverb is an interpretation of the older Russian proverb 'Один в поле не воин' (A single man in the field is no warrior).

🔻It is based on observation of the behavior of Russians who were not afraid of superior opponents on the battlefield.

👋Всем доброго утра!

🔻How should one say 'different' in Russian?

• Разный
[raz-nyj]

• Другой

[dru-goy]

Both adjectives can be translated as 'different' in English.

But:

1. 'Разный' refers to 'various and diverse' pointing out the variety.

2. 'Другой' means 'another, other, the other' pointing out something else.

Example:
Есть разные коты, но мне другого не надо!
[yest' raz-ny-ye ka-ty no mnye dru-go-va ni na-da]
🇬🇧 There are different cats, but I don’t need another!
