Supreme Court Stays Delhi HC Direction to Revise CLAT UG 2025 Merit List ๐๐
The Supreme Court has stayed (put on hold) the Delhi High Court's judgment that had directed the Consortium of National Law Universities to revise the merit list for CLAT UG 2025 admissions. ๐ฎ
The Delhi High Court had previously found errors in four questions across sets B, C, and D of the question papers ๐ค and ordered marks to be awarded for these questions to candidates who attempted those sets. It also directed the CLAT consortium to revise the merit list within four weeks. ๐
The Supreme Court's interim order was issued based on a Special Leave Petition challenging the High Court's decision. The petitioner argued that the High Court's direction put candidates who received question paper set A at a disadvantage. โ๏ธ

Suresh Kumar v. State of Haryana & Ors.
๐ Key Points:
๐นSupreme Court held that delay in filing appeal cannot be a reason to deny just, fair, and reasonable compensation to landowners.
๐นBench: Justices Sanjay Karol and Manmohan.
๐นCourt emphasized the right to property under Article 300A and directed liberal condonation in land acquisition cases.
๐นReference made to Huchanagouda v. Assistant Commissioner where long delay was condoned considering poverty and illiteracy.

โ Conclusion:
Appeal allowed; High Court to reconsider the matter on merits, uninfluenced by delay.
