Case Title: Dr. Jaya Thakur v. State of MP & Ors.

Congress leader Dr. Jaya Thakur has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking the removal of BJP Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah for his controversial remark on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who represented India during ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Shah’s statement linked Col. Qureshi to terrorists, allegedly triggering communal sentiments. The petition claims this violates the oath under Article 164(3) and Form V of Schedule 3 of the Constitution.
