Hurricane Norma made landfall north of Cabo San Lucas about 1/2 way between CSL and Todos Santos, along Mexico's Baja California Pacific coast, as a Category 1 storm on Saturday, 21.October 2023.
Norma brought heavy rains and strong winds, causing flooding and knocking down trees and power lines in the region.
The state capital La Paz, despite not in direct path while hurricane was crossing the southern part of BCS peninsula got hit severe by outer bands of hurricane with extreme showers and wind.
There is a lot of damage in La Paz which got declared disaster area by government.

Even "'La Vaquita del Arámburo" was racing during the weeks leading up to the past 2023 Baja 1000 desert race started this year in La Paz going north to Ensenada.
