Cloudy skies to start the week with cerro Atravesado barely visible due to the cloud cover.
Good morning La Paz.
The only mosquito present in the area is the Aedes aegypti, which transmits viruses such as Zika, chikungunya and dengue. All four serotypes of the dengue virus are present in Mexico, increasing the likelihood of developing severe dengue.

The basics YOU can do: Cover and clean water containers on a regular basis. Common household items like pet water containers, planter dishes, and flower vases can serve as breeding grounds since mosquitoes like to lay their eggs in standing water. Keep your house clean and tidy. Avoid leaving junk inside and outside the house which can possibly house mosquitoes and their eggs like old tires and other storage containers with water inside.

Dengue is a viral infection that spreads from mosquitoes to people. It is more common in tropical and subtropical climates. Most people who get dengue won’t have symptoms. But for those that do, the most common symptoms are high fever, headache, body aches, nausea and rash. Most people will get better in 1–2 weeks, however, some people develop severe dengue which includes shock or respiratory distress due to plasma leakage, severe bleeding, organ impairment, and death.
Dengue has been reported in 28 of 32 Mexico states in 2023.

Best place to walk to for having a coffee! Balandra is not only a beach, it’s rather a bay that consists of several beaches and hills. You can wander around and explore the place.

Roaming the malecon and Vista Coral this morning, bit overcast but pleasantly. Just like La Paz itself! There are so many nice place to see, not just the main “tourist stuff” - we will share with you going forward some of our excursions along the Ensenada de La Paz as expats, long time part- and now full-time (combined 25+ years) residents.
