Barely outside of La Paz, the Mexican Baja Sur peninsula has a lot to offer.
El Saltito Beach - you’ll find yourself immersed in a vista taken straight out of Hollywood. El Saltito features rugged cliffs, turquoise waters, and a rustic ranch in the middle of nowhere that few have visited. There’s something about this secluded place that gives it a wild feel, a vista of waves splashing on craggy rocks framed by bronze-colored mountains along the edge of a perfectly formed bay.

As we enter the "warmer times" of the year here in La Paz, among meteorological reports, one term has begun to gain prominence - "El Niño". It's a climatic phenomenon known to cause extreme weather variations, but what exactly is it and how will it impact Mexico?
One of the major impacts of “El Niño” is on humidity. Jaramillo Moreno pointed out that if a transition to “El Niño” occurs, it will likely result in drier conditions in the South Pacific region of the country. ALL the Pacific coasts in Mexico will be affected by a decrease in rainfall.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, an American neurosurgeon, explains a bit of the impact heat has on our bodies.
Temperature above certain levels can not only affect the bodily function, but can even prove fatal if ignored. The longer a person stays in increased temperatures, the worse the effects on their body.
As the body’s temperature increases, blood vessels also open up, leading to lower blood pressure. It makes the heart work harder to circulate the blood around the body. The effects of lower blood pressure can be felt through dizziness, headache, and nausea.
To fight the heat, the body starts sweating heavily which further leads to loss of salt and fluids in the body, causing dehydration.
The lower blood pressure and dehydration can cause muscle cramps, confusion, and fainting. If the blood pressure drops too far, it can increase the risk of a heart attack.
In worst-case scenarios, heatwaves can kill people.
