عبارت used to


دوستان زمانی از این اصطلاح استفاده میکنیم که بخواهیم درباره کاری که در گذشته بطور مرتب انجام میشده ولی در حال حاضر انجام نمیشود، و یا امری که در گذشته صحیح بوده، اما اکنون صحیح نیست، حرف بزنیم.

پس از used to باید شکل ساده فعل به کار ببریم. بنابراین used to زمان فعل را به گذشته برمی گرداند.


➖David used to live in Madrid.
🔹دیوید سابقاً در مادرید زندگی می کرد.

➖Why don't you come and see me like you used to?
🔹چرا همانطور که قبلاً به دیدن من می آمدی دیگر نمی آیی؟



🎴منفی کردن used to

💠این اصطلاح را معمولا با never و یا didn't use to منفی می کنیم.

➖I never used to smoke, but now I smoke twenty a day.
🔹من قبلنا هیچوقت سیگار نمی کشیدم، ولی حالا روزی بیست تا سیگار می کشم.

➖No, I didn't use to exercise on a regular basis.
🔹نه، قبلنا به صورت منظم ورزش نمی کردم.

💠برای سؤالی کردن used to از فعل کمکی did استفاده می کنیم.

➖Did you use to go ice-skating when you were young?'
➖No, I never did.

on this heartbreaking occasion of the Martyrdom of Ali(A), the Brother of the Prophet Muhammad(S), the @languageassociation would like to send its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the grandson of Ali(A), our beloved Imam al-Mahdi(May Allah hasten his re-appearance) and to all of you .

The tragic days of the 19th and 21st of Ramadhan are onceagain approaching us, the days when the enemies of Allah murdered the Leader of the Muslim Ummah, the Brother of the Prophet Muhammad(S), the son of the Ka'bah, Ali ibn Abi Talib(A), the first Imam of the Muslims.
From his martyrdom, we can learn many lessons, as we can learn much from the life of this great personality, and it is neccessary for us, as believers, as followers of the line of the true Islam, to learn about these personalities to be able to use them as role models who we aspire to be like.
It is well known, that the words that Ali(A) uttered when the poisened sword struck his head while he was in prayer, were the now famous: "Fuzto wa Rabbil Ka'bah" - meaning - "By The Lord of the Ka'bah, I have succeeded"
Here is a man, who has just been struck by a poisened sword, and the words he utters are those of thanks, those of someone thankful to His Lord that he has succeeded in achieving martyrdom. Subhanallah. It is neccessary for us to reflect on this.
From this statement, we can see clearly that the aim that we should be striving for is very simple, that every thing we do, our actions, our prayers, our intentions, should all be for the sake of Allah, for the Lord of the Worlds. Nothing else should cloud our judgement.
With the death of Ali(A), the Muslim Ummah was orphaned, tragically, by a psychotic fanatic, Abdur Rahman ibn Muljim, the cursed murderer of Ali(A). But look at the justice of Ali(A), even after he was struck on the 19th of Ramadhan, and his companions wanted to exact revenge from the killer, Ali(A), stopped them, he told them wait, he is thirsty give him some milk. Ali(A) then told his companions, that if I should die, then put this man to death in the same way as he has killed me, with one strike of the sword, no more, no less.
