Have your students ever flown in a hot air balloon? If not, then there is a great opportunity to do it by filling the second forms of the corresponding regular or irregular verbs from the list and fly to a country called “Past Simple”!

After that, students choose any 5 verbs and make sentences with them in the past tense.

🚀 Rocket speaking activity for hot discussions with teenagers or adults on Space Day!

🗣 It's an excellent task for developing extremely useful abilities - giving personal opinion, expressing agreement and disagreement, as well as for working out the appropriate phrases.

📝 Ask the students to name 7-10 items/animals/professions (but do not immediately reveal the intrigue), let them call the first things that come to the mind, and write them on the board.

🧠 Then divide the students into pairs or mini groups and give them a task: each team must choose only 5 words from the list and come up with some arguments to prove to the others that they are the best to take to the spaceship. They'll have to work hard to explain, but the more challenging, the more interesting!

When each group presents their lists, the others can ask additional questions and give counter-arguments.
