IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals

The Centre for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), China, has approved the company's API product, Clopidogrel Bisulfate.

This approval is in addition to the valid Certificate of Suitability (CEP) already held by the company for Clopidogrel Bisulfate, further strengthening its regulatory portfolio and expanding its access to the Chinese pharmaceutical market.

Jain Resource Recycling

The company informed the exchanges that an accident involving a furnace explosion occurred on July 14 at its manufacturing plant in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.

The incident resulted in the death of one labourer and injuries to several others, who were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) remained net sellers for the fourth consecutive session on July 16, offloading Indian equities worth Rs 4,200 crore. Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) extended their buying streak to the seventh straight session, purchasing shares worth Rs 2,986 crore, providing partial support to the domestic market amid persistent foreign outflows.

The Dow Jones Industrial ​Average fell 105.32 points, or 0.20%, to 52,553.32, the S&P 500 lost 38.63 points, or 0.51%, to 7,533.77 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 387.28 ​points, or 1.47%, to 25,881.95.
Range-bound trading is likely to continue until the Nifty 50 decisively breaks out of this range in either direction. A breakdown below the range could drag the index towards 23,800, the crucial support level. On the upside, the 24,500-24,600 zone will be the key hurdle to watch.
