Movies suck today because everyone is a Mary Sue with no character arc. "I'm great just the way I am."

It's the world that goes through the character development. "We didn't realize how great she was."

$200M just to make The Ugly Duckling for the one-millionth time.

I like how Jonathan Bowden was always yelling. Always. I can respect this

Punk rock is full of shitty politics and Dunning-Kruger opinions, but one thing punks got right is the DIY ethic. They made it into a religion almost.

We talked about this in our latest KDADS episode. Zoomers and younger Millennials never quite got a whiff of what was in the air in the late 80s/early 90s. It was a time when underground culture was starting to break through, when guys were doing it for themselves, and doing it better than the mainstream. You can almost breathe it in if you go back and listen. There's a freshness of perspective. Everything was possible, everything was in front of us.

Now we are doing the same thing with DIY publishing. Guys like Morgoth and Follin and Rowsell are punching above their weight on YouTube. /ourguy/ businesses are starting up and succeeding. And what we do is way better than what the mainstream does.

The difference between us and punk rock is that our worldview is built on a solid foundation, and it will last. But it all depends on the DIY ethic. Everything you love about the West and America and Europe and all of it—it was all built on the backs of nameless men who bled, cried, and sweated in obscurity, so there could be one Shakespeare, Caesar, or Achilles.
