Hiring was my best decision.
Hiring was also my worst.

When you get the right person on your team, someone who believes in the vision, takes ownership, and grows with you.

It changes everything.

We’ll move faster. We’ll think bigger. You’re not building alone. We are together.

But when I hired the wrong person? It costs more than just salary. 😓

It costs time, energy, culture, and sometimes, momentum.

To me, talent is everything.

A company is only as strong as the people behind it. The right talent doesn’t just fill a role, they elevate it.

Over time, I’ve learned:

• Hire slow, fire fast, no chances.
• Values > Portfolio/Resume
• Energy is contagious, protect your culture.
• Hire when more than 1 thing makes sense, not just for a task, towards vision and mission.

I started this business 4 years ago with a simple promise to myself: Retire in 5 years.

Along the way, something changed, I fell in love with the process. The grind. The growth.

Passion and obsession.

To aspire, nurture and educate.

I realized I don’t want to retire.

Today, my goals have evolved and honestly, some people around me think I’ve lost my mind.

And that’s the point!

I’ve always believed: Aim for the moon even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

Or a better one:

Set a 10-year goal. Now ask yourself, how would I achieve it in 6 months?

You might fall short and I guarantee you’ll get there faster than the one who gave themselves 10 years.

I spent RM 50,000 for my team and I to learn NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

The people around me kept sharing about it and I realised, it’s about rewiring the way people think, decide, and take action.

For my team, the benefits were clear, they could build rapport faster, close more sales, and handle objections with ease.

As for myself, an entrepreneur, we tend to see it for ourselves, as well as for the business, a very birds eye view POV.

I saw NLP not just as a tool… it is also as a control panel for business.

With it, I could influence negotiations, design marketing that connects at a subconscious level,

and even install motivation into my team when the pressure was high.

I’m back on my marathon of reading, (Koocester’s Think Week) and it’s pure joy. Every page feels like a spark of enlightenment, filled with invaluable wisdom and perspectives.

I’ve always had a deep love for books. YouTube videos are great,

but books… they have a way of speaking to the soul.

Right now, I’m reading a newly released book, and I’ll share more once I finish it.

And even halfway through, it’s already filled my heart with love, fulfilment, and passion. ❤️

I’ve had the opportunity to have a meal with the author twice in person, yet I crave more time with him.

Every MOMENT, whether in real life or through the pages, feels precious. ❤️

As I read, I feel my own journey being subconsciously affirmed.

I’m gathering golden nuggets that not only enrich my life, at the same time also ripple out to impact thousands of others.

I feel so lucky to be reading this and knowing him in person. ❤️🫀💙

Adam Khoo.

Probably a name you are very familiar with, either make it or break it. Well he probably made you cry before.

Today we had the opportunity to know more about his business, touring his office.

Fun facts we gathered;

3 years into the business Adam, appointed a CEO, putting himself as the Executive Chairman of AKLTG. (Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group)

Adam Khoo has 1 million subscribers on YouTube.

Adam Khoo became a millionaire at 26.

Adam Khoo now focuses more on teaching stock investing, and is very transparent with his portfolio, wins and losses.

Has 3 portfolios, amounting to 10M USD + 9M SGD.

Annual revenue of AKLTG is about 25-30 million.

Despite knowing his earnings and portfolios, he is known to be very frugal.

So many more learnings we had in the video, even more golden nuggets off camera, so excited to share with everyone!

Taufik Batisah, our 1st Singapore Idol winner.

We first met when I bumped into him during my Foodpanda days.

I remembered having to deliver to an apartment and I saw a very bright cyan Mercedes. I said to myself if this car is still here after I delivered my food, I’m gonna ask him what he does for a living.

And yes, the car is still there and I asked the person to roll down the window. It’s him. Taufik Batisah.

Well he ventured into the real estate business and he was there for his client, and a great ass opportunity for me too, cause he’s a celebrity! We connected and I’m surprised he exchanged numbers with me.

Fast forward, we met in an entrepreneur’s event, a year or 2 later, caught up, and told him, we haven’t had a meal ever! Let’s grab lunch?

He invited me to his humble abode, and we share our values and learnings.

Eventually we became friends. We often go for very early breakfast. 5am kind, and we’ll share and talk until it’s 9/10am.

What we have learnt, reflections and experiences. Personal and business.

Today, I learnt about giving back.

Giving back. What does it mean?

It’s often associated with choosing your organisation and donating to the cause.

What if we think further?

Nothing in this world is ours, the more we earn, the more we are supposed to give back.

Giving back to your family. Giving back to your teammates. A friend in need. Give back in any way you can think of.

Like treating someone for lunch or buying someone a simple and thoughtful gift.

… and if life has ever shown you kindness, you carry a piece of that forward,

it is to pass on, and double it!

Sometimes the smallest act of giving… can change someone’s entire world.
