It would be great if in all Adobe software, there was a timer in the bottom taskbar. It would respond to actual actions with tools and palettes and pause when Illustrator is simply open.

When you switch to adjusting a photo in Photoshop, the timer keeps running. You load a photo into After Effects—the timer starts.

Next to it, there could be a second timer for the file. You open yesterday's file — timer 2 continues. This way, you could track not only the overall working time in the software but also within a specific document.

1. Chips packaging that opens into a bowl. A simple and concise way to make the packaging convenient, avoiding the need to dip hands into it one by one, especially in a group setting. I appreciate when packaging aims for material integrity. In this case, the tube shape and bowl are formed not through a complex structure but literally from a single piece of foil-lined cardboard. I would consider getting rid of the connecting ring and simply making a lid half the length of the tube.
+ A smart move for branding.

2. An ice cream stick with a dinosaur on the end. Kind of like taking a bite, and the plastic bits become a choking hazard for kids. Additionally, I haven't come across frozen juice with such transparency. Unsurvivable student render.

1. Any packaging with measurements. It's cool when they provide different scales (grams, tablespoons, cups). Generally, adding some measurements, even if potentially unnecessary, adds a pleasant touch of care. You often find dispensers on pasta packaging, markings on tools, and the like.

2. A drawing of folds on the foil seal of yogurt. Firstly, here you get the entire "Young Technician" magazine (I still can't figure out how to assemble it). Secondly, I will never, in my life, lick a piece of foil that has been touched by dozens of hands. Thirdly, yogurt tastes the most repugnant when eaten with the foil.

If you google "friss biotojas," besides archival mentions in design reviews, you won't find real industrial circulation. Instead, "less cardboard" will appear as if there's a tension with cardboard in the world.

Without peeking

It's easy for me to take on projects from a new field because I come up with numerous improvements even before a client approaches me.

For instance, I already have about three matured designs for ATM interfaces. When a client comes in, I won't need much time to get started. I have good strategies for developers and utility companies. Within a week, I can provide dos and don'ts guidelines for social media communication between the city hall and the city residents. I know how precautionary and entertaining messages should look.

During the first meeting with a client, when they show me their current company layout, I already have at least five improvements in my mind. It's rare that I look and have nothing to suggest.

Periodically, I shake up my knowledge base in case technologies have changed, but I systematically remain the same. That's why I rarely peek at other guys, what they are doing, and what they have accomplished. I would be happy to simplify my work by automatically peeking and copying, but I haven't yet cleared up my own treasure trove. It's carefully assembled with life observations, arranged by significance and areas.

Trade move

There's a tactic that helps sell design. Not many talk about it, but the attentive and bold ones put it into practice.

I once had a client from the cinema industry who was a fan of the zombie genre. I discovered this when he made a reference during our meeting, and I caught it. When presenting the branding, among other mediums, I had the logo draped on a zombie-themed jacket and showcased a close-up frame in the presentation: a close-up of a half-decomposed corpse with a shattered skull, wearing the client's logo on its attire. Besides having a good logo, this move definitely influenced the decision.

Another client often mentioned his collection of old books. Although it had no relevance to the project, I delved into my samples, incorporated a layout partially following the style of 18th-century British books, and presented it. The client later sent me a separate video thank-you from his library, demonstrating how accurately I captured his preferences.

Crisp Edge

If you want to enhance the clarity of your graphics, add a subtle dark line between color transitions. For an even more energetic look, consider adding two light lines on either side of the dark line. This creates a manual sharpen effect.

This technique is most effective in schematic branches, technical graphics, and similar applications.
