Aave x Chaos Labs Drama

1. Chaos announces leaving Aave
https://x.com/omeragoldberg/status/2041185313163276302

2. Stani Responds
https://x.com/StaniKulechov/status/2041219266972926195

Other tweets
• Zach (Chainlink) comments that it's "not the first time Chaos has attempted to rewrite history (risk oracle misconfig resulting in $25M in false liquidations)"
https://x.com/chainlinkgod/status/2041238382018506780
• Emilio (VP of Engineering @ Aave) takes a dig at prev ACI contributor
https://x.com/Nandy_ba/status/2041291635493871961

TLDR
Chaos was pushing for
1. Becoming the sole risk manager, removing LlamaRisk
2. Replacing chainlink oracles with their own stack.
3. Increasing compensation from $5M to $8M alongside these changes.

As of now - ACI, TokenLogic, BGD Labs, and now Chaos Labs, have left Aave.

Edit: TokenLogic is still in.

Crypto Security 101: A Practical Guide

In light of all the recent hacks, exploits and social engineering on the rise, here's a practical guide collated for crypto security from trusted sources.

🚨 FIRST - If you think you've been hacked:
• Disconnect from the internet immediately
• Turn off your computer
• Open this on another device
• DO NOT turn your computer back on
Then DM @seal_911_bot on Telegram — it's a free 24/7 emergency hotline that connects you to a vetted team of world-class security researchers, from exploit triage to fund recovery.

Read: Security Alliance — "What to do if You're Infected by Malware"

1. Prevent Account Takeover (Most likely way you'll get wrecked)
• Get a password manager (Bitwarden / 1Password). Unique, randomly generated passwords everywhere
• Use a dedicated email for crypto - ideally one alias per exchange
• Bookmark all exchanges and dApps. Never navigate via Google, Twitter links, Telegram, Discord, or search ads
• Buy 2x YubiKeys. Store one offsite. Move all 2FA onto them
• Kill SMS-based 2FA AND SMS as a recovery method (these are separate steps)
• Enable exchange security features: WD whitelists, 24hr timelocks, API key lockdowns

2. Secure Your Keys (Highest $ value threat)
• Buy a hardware wallet (Ledger / Trezor)
• Use Rabby to simulate transactions and flag suspicious addresses before signing
• Back up seed phrases. Consider Shamir's Secret Sharing (4-of-6, built into Trezor). Test recovery end-to-end before storing funds
• Never sign blind. Always verify on-device: chain / contract / amount / method / destination
• Write a transfer checklist - it stops avoidable mistakes
• Keep a local address book. Cross-check addresses to prevent address poisoning

3. Reduce Exposure
• Regularly revoke unused or unlimited token approvals
• Segment your wallets:
→ Hot browser wallet - small amounts, dApp interaction only
→ Hot hardware wallet - <10% of net worth
→ Treasury hardware wallet - bulk holdings, simple transfers ONLY. No dApps.
The exploration wallet should never hold more than you're comfortable losing entirely, since interacting with unknown dApps always carries some risk.

4. Harden Your Environment
• Run a separate browser (minimum) or ideally a dedicated machine for crypto only
• Be paranoid about what's installed on your signing machine.
• Never run:
→ Files sent by anyone (even Telegram contacts)
→ Unknown browser extensions
→ Pirated software
→ Dev tooling like VSCode or package managers

5. Prepare for Failure
• Leave your loved ones a recovery plan
• Keep a clean emergency "lockdown" wallet - unused, just in case
• Run DeBank for wallet alerts
• Set up email forwarding for exchange withdrawal notifications to your phone
• Write out action plans in advance for: hacks / exchange failures / protocol failures
Pre-written plan → move fast → limit losses

Valiant Trade

Valiant (Fogo's DEX) is running a perp-trading campaign for the month of April.

Their offer is simple:
• Up to 150K USDC bonus at 1B trading volume (withdrawable)
• Fogo Flames (potential airdrop)
• Valiant Badges (potential airdrop)
• Hyperliquid points (listed as a perk, but Valiant can't actually guarantee this)

What's not mentioned - and you should know:
Valiant charges a 3.8bp builder fee.
Best case (all maker orders):
HL maker fee $150K + Valiant builder fee $380K = $530K in fees
Minus $150K reward = net loss of $380K
Worst case (all taker orders)
HL taker fee $450K + Valiant builder fee $380K = $830K in fees
Minus $150K reward = net loss of $680K

This campaign makes sense if you geniunely trade regularly with high volume and are profitable, and believe that the potential Fogo/Valiant airdrop are worth the potential builder fees spent.

Just bringing it here to your attention. If you're interested, you can give it a try.

Saw this on MLM's channel and I'm curious too, this channel has been live for 3 years now.

Have the actionables, alpha calls, etc actually helped you make any money?

Original intention was to help my friends who were affected by FTX to make some monies back - https://t.me/kirbycrypto/4

Excellent read - Jeff Lore

On Jeff’s character
“He wears the same Lululemon shorts and T-shirt every day. He owns 15 pairs of the shorts and 10 of the shirts, in three colors each.”

• “He even cuts his own hair because, well, going to a barber takes time.”

On ambition and work
“The brain is an organ. If you need to work more hours, you can train for it.”

• “If you’re not the first person doing something, it’s probably not worth your time to be doing it at all.”

On Hyperliquid’s ethos
“No investors. No paid market makers. No fees to the dev team. No insiders.”

• “If Bitcoin had raised VC rounds, I really don’t think it would be Bitcoin.”

On direction vs. destination
“Be very confident you’re going in the right direction, and execute well on the step you’re taking right now, without knowing exactly where you’re going.”

The ending is beautiful writing
“You leave a beach in Puerto Rico where nobody knows your name. You build something from scratch using your television and your own savings. You turn down $100 million. You give billions to strangers. And what do you get? War.”

There is no second best.

Hyperliquid
