Настоящим письмом Приемная комиссия Университета КИМЭП сообщает вам о правилах проведения творческих экзаменов:
Дата проведения – 8 июля 2018
Время проведения – 10:00 -12:45
Место проведения – зал №1 (Новое Академическое Здание)

Для участия в творческих экзаменах вам необходимо предпринять следующие шаги до 7 июля 2018 г.:
1.Зарегистрироваться на творческие экзамены через портал абитуриента https://www.kimep.kz/ext/application/online/
2.Предоставить в приемную комиссию оригинал аттестата об окончании школы/колледжа, а также сертификат ЕНТ/КТА (при его наличии)

Максимальное количество баллов по каждому творческому экзамену — 40, минимальный проходной балл – 5. Абитуриенты, получившие по творческому экзамену менее 5 баллов или не явившиеся на него, не подлежат зачислению на программу журналистики. Пересдача творческого экзамена не разрешается. Для лиц, поступающих на творческие специальности, учитываются баллы ЕНТ/КТА по истории Казахстана и грамотности чтения.

Summer IT Internship Method Pro Almaty 2018 takes place at KIMEP

We are happy to announce that 2 month-long Summer IT Internship, Method Pro Almaty 2018 takes place at KIMEP with 115 finalists selected from 1000 applicants throughout Kazakhstan. This year Method Pro is being held in Almaty for the first time and KIMEP has become exclusive partner of Method Pro in Almaty. It is the IT Internship organized by the first programming school in Kazakhstan, Method Coding School. Not only it is absolutely free of charge, it gives students from Non-IT (future Steve Jobs’) and IT (future Steve Wozniak’s) backgrounds to get 1 month of intense education, participate in hackathon, solve 30 real life problems, and spend 1 month of case competition. Also the chance to win 500,000 kzt for the case per team.
KIMEP, as a venue partner of Method Pro will get nationwide promotion, as the interns include participants all over Kazakhstan, and even Central Asia.

KIMEP Exchange Alumni & Freshmen Club, 12 June 2018

It has become a good tradition of hosting a KIMEP Exchange Alumni & Freshmen Club which allows exchange program alumni to share their experiences with freshmen students who can learn a lot about the opportunities offered by KIMEP University. This club is designed to be a networking tool, which enables its participants to transfer knowledge and share great idea.

Last Tuesday the 17 exchange program alumni and the 9 freshmen students, who are going for a exchange program, attended the club’s meeting. The alumni shared their experiences gained through academic mobility programs taking place in the different parts of the globe and gave useful advice for freshmen in terms of both academic and students’ life.

It was an honor to have alumni, who have already graduated from KIMEP on campus: Altynay Mambetova (graduated in 2015) currently working at the National Bank of Kazakhstan; Aichurek Arzybekova (graduated in 2015) working at KPMG Kazakhstan and Safon Issak-Zade (graduated in 2018), employed recently to PwC Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, Zhamilya Utarbayeva, e-Astana Erasmus Mundus consortia alumnus and Coordinator on Outgoing Mobility, also shared her knowledge related and encouraged students to ask advice regarding Universities in the Basque Country of Spain.

Overall the event went very well and everyone enjoyed it, which is proved by the feedback provided by the participants who indicated that this type of activity was very efficient for both alumni and freshmen.

Have you ever wondered what is Dual Degree like in KIMEP University?

Meruyert Yessaliyeva, the current MAE student, is the first KIMEP University participant has recently obtained her Master Degree in prominent Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany) in the framework of Dual Degree Agreement between KIMEP University and Humboldt University. She is currently on the way to complete her master diploma at KIMEP University.

Crack the Coding Interview! Talk by Google Women Techmakers Scholar on Method Pro

Visit of Google Women Techmakers Scholar, Chandler Beyer made 2 week of Method Pro stay in minds. Being Method Pro intern at KIMEP gave privilege to listen to Yale-NUS College computer science student share her experience not only at Google, but also practical guidelines to pass technical interviews. That was a great start for the IT Internship, as many participants could get the idea how to build the career in IT and if that is what they search for. Partnership of KIMEP together with Method Coding School, organizers of Summer IT Internship might become also one of the fruitful ones, as future information system students might consider our university as the good place to start.
Chandler Beyer gave interns idea how to be a “Googly” person, stopping more on characteristics every company seeks for at technical interviews, balancing it with practical core skills every ‘want to be successful’ computer person should know. She explained the tech interview by role-playing-live interview demonstration, which summed up points as:
• Verbalise thoughts. Even if you understand how you do it, interviewer needs to know you understand that and able to explain
• Do in depth research about company you applying
• Be kind/ be humble. Do not worry to ask questions if you are in a right way and do not forget to thank them
Lastly, Chandler has worked with Girls Who Code (GWC) as a Diversity and Inclusion Liaison, getting more than 400 young women involved in coding and GWC. She highlighted some stereotypes and common problems of women in technology and shares the main mission of GWC: ‘to close gender gap in technology’. To remind, Method Coding School is also promoting girls in Kazakhstan into programming. One of the bright examples are the 10-11 years old winners of Technovation.
