In 2015 a book, written by ~10 coworkers with military-medical background and edited by Prof Xu Dezhong, was published in China:
"SARS is not of natural origin - man-made novel virus as genetic bioweapons".
Contrary to "Unrestricted Warfare" (1999) by Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui it is seemingly unknown in the west. There was (is) no authorized translation in any foreign language. To my knowledge, australian journalist Sharri Markson is one of the very few who mentioned it (two occurrences in "What really happened in Wuhan"), the other one being Lt Col (res.) Dr Dany Shoham at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, an isreali biological weapons specialist.
The authors hypothesize that the SARS 2002/03 and likely the H7N9 influenza 2013 as well have been foreign bioattacks on the nation of China and, in my opinion, they give convincing support to this hypothesis.
Furthermore, Prof Xu demonstrates hints potentially linking SARS to the US biofense institution USAMRIID (Fort Detrick) via USAMRIID-trained coronavirologist Kathryn V Holmes and her (unusual for 2005) statements "The world is unlikely to face an explosive SARS outbreak like the one of two years ago" and "The human epidemic strain is not being harboured in animals", but keeping silent on the foundation of her knowledge.
