Statement About the elections in People's Korea .
On Sunday the 15th of March the citizens of the DPRK participated in the elections to the 15th Supreme People's Assembly(SPA) . KCNA reported as follows :' All the voters, well aware of the importance of the voting card associated with the highest dignity and honor of their great country, took part in the election with solemn reverence for the DPRK national emblem and flag shining brightly at the polling stations.

According to the election returns, 99.99 percent of all the voters registered on the voter rolls across the country attended the election. 0.0037 percent of the voters failed to take part in the election as they are currently abroad or working in oceans and 0.00003 percent abstained.

99.93 percent of the electors balloted for and 0.07 percent against. As a result, under the Law of the DPRK on the Elections of Deputies to the People's Assemblies at All Levels, 687 workers, farmers, intellectuals, servicepersons and officials were elected to be SPA deputies .The level of turnout in the election was the highest in the world . For example it can be Compare to this to the 59 per cent turnout in the UK, 55 per cent in the US and 38 per cent in Switzerland.
The successful holding of the elections to the 15th SPA are a powerful demonstration of the single hearted unity of the people of the DPRK around respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , the Workers' Party and the Juche idea. Such unity is totally unparalleled anywhere else in the world . Korean people say that single-hearted unity is more powerful than an atomic bomb.
The DPRK does indeed have a different system to bourgeois democracy in the West (which is not really democracy) , it people's democracy , socialist democracy and proletarian democracy .
In the DPRK candidates are chosen by mass meetings of electors first , rather than by a small clique of people putting forward a candidate. No one who does not have the support of the people can forward as a candidate , it is as simple as that . On election day voters approve the candidates .
The mainstream media assert 'there is no choice' in DPRK elections but what real choice is there in many capitalist countries where often all the parties support capitalism ? Really elections in capitalist countries are about deciding who is going to fiddle their expenses and vote themselves a pay rise . In the UK Members of Parliament are paid £93,904 per year plus expenses . In People's Korea is no class of professional
In People' Korea ordinary workers including street cleaners are elected to the SPA , something that would be almost impossible in a capitalist society . In the UK only one or two members out of 650 members of the UK parliament are of working class origin , this is less than 0.5 per cent . In the DPRK in 1990 , 47 per cent of deputies to the SPA were workers and farmers. 20 per cent of deputies to the SPA are women .
DPRK elections are real people's democracy in action ! Long live people's power in the DPRK.

Report of 3rd Reading Session on the Booklet “Understanding the Worker Party of Korea “ held on 17.03.2026.

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held its 3rd reading session on the booklet “ Understanding the Workers Party of Korea “ at 1900 hours GMT . Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea from London, West of England , Scotland , Shropshire and the north west as well as guests from KFA Germany,KFA Greece and KFA International .

Dr Dermot Hudson,Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group For the Study of Juche Idea , stressed the importance of studying the booklet “Understanding the Workers Party of Korea “ as the 9th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea had just been held .

Dr Hudson read out sections of the booklet dealing with the change in party building activities ,leadership of the revolution and construction , the question of power , the anti-imperialist ,anti-feudal democratic revolution , the socialist revolution , three revolutions , guidance over economic work , guidance over military work and the external activities of the Workers Party of Korea .

Discussions were held on the subject of the socialist transformation of production relations and the socialist revolution .as well as the questions of the solution of power , the three revolutions ,economic work ,military work and external activities .

More About the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly elections
The imperialist and bourgeois mainstream media and its spin off social media have been slandering the results of the elections for the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly. These attacks on the popular democratic electoral system of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) or People Korea have made much of the fact that 0.07 per cent of those who voted against .

Many of the criticisms of the DPRK’s electoral system are very ignorant. A large number of commentators have referred to “parliamentary elections “ in the DPRK or the “rubber stamp parliament “ when in fact the DPRK does not have a parliament but a Supreme People’s Assembly , an organ of people’s power which does not consist of professional career politicians like in the West . In fact many deputies of the Supreme People’s Assembly are actually ordinary workers even street cleaners .How many workers or poor people were elected to the UK parliament at the 2024 general election ? Maybe 2 or 3 out of 600 Members of Parliament , if that , probably it was none.

The DPRK Supreme People’ Assembly elections had a much higher turnout than elections in capitalist countries 99.99 per cent compared to 59.9 per cent in the last UK general election. In some working class areas of the UK voting in elections is seen as a middle class thing so the working class is effectively disenfranchised , some do not bother to register to vote in elections.

In fact in the DPRK voters have a democratic right they do not have in the West they can vote against the list . In most Western countries you cannot vote to reject all candidates.

So why did 0.07 of the DPRK vote against ? Well who would be against free housing and virtually free food ? It would be crazy to do so !

The fact that only 0.07 per cent voted against the list in the DPRK is testimony the single-hearted unity in the DPRK and the solidity of the socialist system. In People's Korea there is no bourgeoisie or capitalists to vote against the electoral list . There are some residual class enemies and reactionaries(probably descendants of the overthrown exploiting class who did not go to the south ) but one day even these will no longer exist .People's Korea is a true country of single hearted unity.
