- [manager]: Support offline patching of the kernel.
- [kernel]: Fix issue with ColorOS.
- [kernel]: Hide traces of LKM in user space.
- [manager]: Fix possible errors during OTA upgrades.
The installation guide has been updated, with added instructions for LKM mode: https://kernelsu.org/guide/installation.html#introduction
KernelSU has been around for nearly two years and has stabilized, and we plan to move to 1.0 in the future; here are some adjustments:

1. In principle, we only accept Bug Reports and do not accept external Feature Requests; if you want new features, you are welcome to submit a Pull Request. We will still develop new features that we think are interesting/cool, such as sulog, ksufs, webui, etc.
2. Since non-GKI kernels are full of weird things, it is very time-consuming to deal with this kind of problem; from now on, we will only deal with issues related to GKI kernels. For problems with old kernels, please search for issues by yourself; we will give up supporting non-GKI kernels in version 1.0. Since non-GKI kernels are no longer updated, you can continue to use KernelSU version 0.9.x; in fact, starting from 0.7.0, we have not added any new features to non-GKI kernels.

Our energy is limited, but the rewards are even more limited, so please understand our choice, thank you!

You can choose to install the KernelSU manager exclusively in Private Space on Android 15 now.
KernelSU provides systemless modification of the system through overlayfs, but this feature has become a major and fragile detection point, with many detection methods for KernelSU stemming from it. Therefore, we plan to launch the metamodule feature, which will transfer certain capabilities of the module system to the metamodule. This will maintain the stability and security of KernelSU itself while releasing greater innovative potential for the module system.

For example, after transferring the mount capability to the metamodule, there can be various mounting methods:

1. No mount; for users who only use mountless modules, there is no need to bear the side effects brought by mounting.

2. Using overlayfs for mounting; with rw support, direct writing to partitions like /system can be enabled.

3. Magic mount; utilizing the mounting methods provided by Magisk for better compatibility.

4. There can also be several other implementations, such as fuse-overlay mount, custom vfs mount, etc.

The metamodule can also take over the module installation process, providing unique capabilities for modules, such as supporting kernel modules, etc.

Welcome to the era of metamodule!

📢 About KernelSU-Modules-Repo

GitHub has suspended the KernelSU-Modules-Repo organization. We opened a support ticket almost a month ago and haven't heard back, so the repositories can't be transferred to their authors for now. If you need code from the org, please contact an org admin.

The new modules repository is live. Authors maintain their modules in their own repositories and submit them through the Developer Portal:
