Giving forms ideas and perceiving ideas through forms - this is the main creative principle of the Chinese bureau Archermit, who consider themselves pioneers and practitioners of imagist architecture.

Their recent work - the Exhibition Pavilion in Xingcheng Exhibition Garden, designed for the International Horticultural Exhibition in Chengdu, was created in this style.

The exhibition pavilion was created in the tradition of garden architecture of Western Sichuan, where the building is an element of the landscape it self. Its form-building is based on the images of a lotus flower and a bamboo tree.

A large-scale column in the center of the interior. In the center of the roof there is a hole for collecting rainwater. To ensure that the image of the bamboo tree can be clearly seen from any point in the garden, the interior space of the exhibition pavilion is separated from the exterior only by glass walls.
