I build a whole feature in 5 minutes with Cursorโฆ then spend the rest of the week fixing bugs and cleaning up the mess. What a time to be alive. Still love Cursor though, I even pay for it.

Been digging into MongoDB pagination lately and wow, .skip() is a silent killer. Turns out when you do something like .skip(1000).limit(20), Mongo actually scans 1020 docs and just tosses the first 1000 away. Use Cursor-based pagination (aka keyset pagination) instead.

Good morning y'all.
And that leads me to MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard created by Anthropic that lets AI models (like Claude, ChatGPT, or others) connect with external tools, apps, and data sources in a consistent, safe, and scalable way.
Think of it like an API standard for LLMs. Instead of every app inventing its own custom plugin system for AI, MCP defines a universal "language" so models and tools can talk to each other.
MCP provides a universal, open standard that lets AI models connect to external services and data sources through structured communication, ensuring interoperability and security. Instead of granting an AI unrestricted access to the internet, MCP works through dedicated servers that expose specific resources (like calendars, files, or repositories) and tools (like creating events or issues), allowing the model to safely fetch data or perform actions.

Yo I just canโt believe I spent 20 years of my life in formal education. Like, there were so many better things I could have learned and done. Instead, I sat through endless classes listening to teachers go on and on about things that barely matter in real life. And thatโs the crazy part, every year, thousands of people graduate, some with the highest honors, yet most of them still donโt end up living a good life. Not just financially, but in every sense. For so many, life still feels like a constant struggle. So I have to ask: if the education system is supposed to prepare us for life, where exactly is it solving that problem?

Honestly, I think formal education is useful only up until about grade 8. After that, it feels like a complete waste of time more like a place to hide from the real world than to prepare for it. I mean, can you believe we still sit in classrooms trying to find โxโ while the world outside has already moved way past that?

Disclaimer: Only quit or drop out if you truly know what youโre doing. A lot of people lack clarity in life, and for them, staying in school might actually be the safer path. Unless you have a strong sense of direction and a real understanding of the world you live in, itโs better to stick with formal education.

Thank God I never have to mess with CSS because of Cursor. As a backend-focused dev, this feels like coding in heaven.
