This for example is is called a fork bomb. It creates a function : that calls itself twice recursively (:|:), and runs in the background (&). Once you invoke it with : at the end, it duplicates itself infinitely until your system runs out of resources. Don't try this though it will crash your system. Or maybe try it and let me know what happens lol

Guys, what do you think about group live coding nights kind of like those "study with me" livestreams?
Guys, I am feeling like hosting a code night today. Just building and learning there won't be much talking unless necessary. What do you think? I am thinking to start like in 20 minutes?

Iβve never encountered a more toxic and ego-driven attitude than from some Ethiopian tech professionals who return from abroad, especially those coming from the U.S. They act as if they've achieved some kind of divine greatness. Lol you just visited another country on earth that is all. Brag about your skills, your impact, or the difference you've made, but simply moving to another country doesn't make you a better person.

I have deep respect for those who consistently find ways to contribute to the tech community or society and actually get things done on the ground far more than those who hide behind the name of big corporations. Thatβs also one of the many reasons I stepped away from big corporations, to focus on actually getting things done and making a real contribution.

Introducing a new project not just another app, but a physical device designed to help you shift between different emotional states using neurostimulation and gentle electric pulses. With my device, you can even experience what an electric shock feels like, just so you know there's always something worse than whatever you're feeling right now.

I build a whole feature in 5 minutes with Cursor⦠then spend the rest of the week fixing bugs and cleaning up the mess. What a time to be alive. Still love Cursor though, I even pay for it.

Been digging into MongoDB pagination lately and wow, .skip() is a silent killer. Turns out when you do something like .skip(1000).limit(20), Mongo actually scans 1020 docs and just tosses the first 1000 away. Use Cursor-based pagination (aka keyset pagination) instead.

Good morning y'all.
And that leads me to MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard created by Anthropic that lets AI models (like Claude, ChatGPT, or others) connect with external tools, apps, and data sources in a consistent, safe, and scalable way.
Think of it like an API standard for LLMs. Instead of every app inventing its own custom plugin system for AI, MCP defines a universal "language" so models and tools can talk to each other.
MCP provides a universal, open standard that lets AI models connect to external services and data sources through structured communication, ensuring interoperability and security. Instead of granting an AI unrestricted access to the internet, MCP works through dedicated servers that expose specific resources (like calendars, files, or repositories) and tools (like creating events or issues), allowing the model to safely fetch data or perform actions.
