feedback of “backrooms” (directed by kane parsons), so spoilers ahead 😮

i considered it a really interesting allegory of the human psyche, which for years has been understood as an infinite map where not everything is always clear- indeed, our memories are often distorted and unscanned, over which we ourselves do not even have control. it is objectively negative,, 🛏️but in some fragments i saw myself in the protagonist, clark, who in the end did not have the strength to leave the place which led to his death, but found comfort in being remembered by it. in a parallel way, mary rejected this destructive comfort and (based on interpretation) left the backrooms (or at least, she managed not to get devoured by childhood trauma). i obviously loved the setting and those small details that gradually formed a great puzzle - only the pacing could have been better. overall, it’s a film i would truly watch a thousand times more, it totally destabilized me! ❤️
