Apple spent $50 million on R&D in 1989 to prove otherwise.
Differences are smaller than you might think. Moving the hand from keyboard to mouse costs some time (~0.4 sec). However, by far the largest bottleneck is mental processing (~1.2 sec).
Bottom line, use whatever you are comfortable with, it doesn’t matter. Any slight advantages of keyboard-use are borderline at best; the biggest factor is your brain.
The ability to instantly understand an interface, whether GUI or CLI, is the important part.

Blender only lets you write add-ons in Python, which is not just incredibly slow but also a terrible platform for this kind of systems programming work.
So, after having a Python exporter for the longest time, I decided enough was enough, and I programmed this exporter in C. Blender doesn't expose any C API or interface. So my only option was to download Blender's source code and insert my code directly into Blender.
And that's what I did :)
