I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

Thanksgiving means the act of expressing or feeling thankfulness. In other words, it's the act of giving thanks for what you're grateful for.
Settlers at Plymouth and their allies from the Wampanoag tribe gather in 1621 for an epic, three-day feast to celebrate the settlers' first successful harvest.
About 140 people came to the first Thanksgiving At least 90 Native men and 50 Englishmen came to feast on on deer geese, turkey and other fowl. Plymouth Plantation.
The Native people dined sitting on the ground, like they did at home, and the English ate at the table, like they did at theirs.
The festivities also lasted three days, since it took the Wampanoag a solid two to walk there. So yes, overnight guests are also a longstanding Thanksgiving tradition.

This event will be a 100% peaceful, well-precedented, nonviolent “sit-in.” One of the most famous sit-in movements was the 1960s Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee’s First Amendment activities in protest of voter suppression and, notably, the right to vote and be appropriately represented in government.
If you can’t attend the event, please consider donating to help the protestors remain until free and fair elections are secured.
