Here's a 10-second habit that will save you from bad trades. Before you enter, imagine the trade has already lost.
Then ask: why did it lose?
Maybe the answer is "news was due in 20 minutes." Or "I entered in the middle of the range." Or "I was trading against the higher timeframe."
If you can easily explain why it failed, you probably shouldn't take it. If you genuinely struggle to find a reason, that's a sign the setup is clean.
Professionals call this a pre-mortem.
It takes seconds and filters out the trades you'd regret.
