This article is so true. I worked with Kez when he was attached to the Careflight helicopter at Westmead and in in more recent times during his time in control. He would regularly task us on long distance transfers at night, often going without sleep for 20 plus hours. He is 100 percent accurate about the fatigue and lack of resources. It’s hard to believe NSW Ambulance is calling retirees to come back, but happy to discard the hundreds of Paramedics that will be terminated at the end of the month. Why isn’t the Chief Executive of NSW Ambulance standing up for his staff and the people we all go to work to protect. It’s hard to believe Dr Morgan isn’t aware his staff are calling retirees back to duty. Can I suggest he has a discussion with Mr Hazzard about how he intends providing continuity and service provision into the future. Sending out fire fighters isn’t a good option. We need an immediate Royal Commission. This State is a mess.
