The Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK) is a network of health professionals within private and public facilities committed to access to Comprehensive Abortion Care through advocacy and service provision among other SRH services.
The network was formed to provide evidenced-based information and quality comprehensive reproductive health services in Kenya. RHNK’s main strategic goal is to contribute to the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality due to post-partum hemorrhage and unsafe abortion.
The network’s membership is drawn from four health professional associations including Kenya Medical Association (KMA), Kenya Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (KOGS), the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) and the Kenya Association of Clinical Officers (KCOA).
RHNK is looking for a strong, passionate and result driven individual to fill the role of an Advocacy Officer to help implement our Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health – Safe Choice Advocacy Programme.
This is a one year contract, renewal is subject to funding availability.
The purpose of this job includes:
•Leading the development and implementation of effective SRHR advocacy strategies in line with the Kenyan Law.
•Support in developing the SRHR advocacy information and communication materials.
•Developing the materials and mechanism for the capacity building of policy makers, health care providers, young people and other advocates to take the form of policy dialogues and advocacy.
•To be accountable for the achievements of the project expected results as provided for by the donor.
•To track and report on the implementation of the Safe Choice project and ensure it is guided by RHNK and donor policies and principles.
Requirements:
The candidate must possess the following requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in any related health field with 3-5 years’ experience in SRHR advocacy and service delivery programs including family planning and contraception.
•Proven capacity to oversee development and implementation of work plans, reports and monitoring and evaluation activities.
•Ability to identify new donors and partners for the organization.
•Demonstrated ability to lead service delivery and capacity building and advocacy interventions.
•Demonstrated experience collaborating with both National government and county government and other key SRHR actors in developing SRHR policies and advocacy strategies.
