Russell “Texas” Bentley has been fighting for the Donbass people in eastern Ukraine (against the Ukrainian government), for the last eight years.

He chatted to me from the centre of Donetsk. A Ukrainian bomb exploded about 500 metres away from where he is in this video, a few hours earlier.

The people of that region have wanted to secede from Ukraine since 2014, but the Ukrainian government (and NATO) don’t want it to happen.

He chatted to me from a hotel in Donetsk. A Ukrainian bomb exploded just outside the hotel a few hours before he chatted to me.
