This is pretty exciting for us, frens!

distrowatch.com , the best known website in the Linux community that keeps track of all the different “distributions” of Linux, reviewed our linux distro, CNIX, this week. The review is visible on the front page of distrowatch under “This week in DistroWatch Weekly.”

We made it through our first review with what feels like a “neutral to slightly positive” rating. That itself is pretty amazing as distrowatch is pretty tough on new Linux distros in a lot of their reviews!

The conclusion of this article: “In short, CNIX is a perfectly fine, desktop operating system.” 🤩

And, CNIX has been getting a ton of downloads (we were already pushing 50,000+) from distrowatch, even before this article came out. Several notable Llinux websites have been linking to cnix.org recently which is sure to continue with this review.

Looks like it’s official—our distro is going to have a place in the Linux world!

Thanks to Jeff.pro chat member Tzefania for pointing out the review! Now we know why we were seeing so many downloads of CNIX again this week!

Some of the comments from the distrowatch review of CNIX, the Jeff.pro Linux distro:

“The Xfce desktop is pleasantly responsive, the operating system is stable, and the included software all worked as expected. The distribution detected and worked with all of my laptop's hardware.”

“The website also mentions both GNOME Software and Synaptic are included with the distribution and this is accurate. Both the GNOME Software application manager and the low-level Synaptic package manager are included. I was able to use both to find, install, remove, and upgrade packages on the system. Both worked smoothly and without problems. For people who prefer working from the command line the APT package manager is included. “

“On the positive side, CNIX is stable, fast, and provides us with access to Debian's huge repositories of software. On the other hand, as far as I could tell, apart from the system installer, CNIX doesn't appear to add anything to the Debian experience.”

👆 oh, what little does the reviewer realize, about what’s added to the Debian experience by having our group managing this Debian based distro! 🤩

Patriots are in control of this version! 🎉

If you’re one of the several hundred learners in the Linux for Beginners class run by this channel, your invitations for tomorrow’s Weekend Linux Workshop are being sent out to your e-mail now!

As you learn your way around your new Linux system, you’ll find tons of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). It’s free, as in, they just give it all away—no license fees like what “big tech” always asks for, and much of it is just as good, if not better than “big tech” programs! However, the FOSS software is distributed in different ways. Learn the difference between a snap, flatpaks, and app images, and how to work with them. It’s even easier than installing software in Windows!

Learning about the parallel technology world of Free and Open Source Software is a decision to take back control of your personal information, data and ultimately your Digital Freedom. We welcome you to the Linux for Beginners class and a new chapter of your digital life. You will like it! While everyone else is being abused by "big tech" with no end in sight, it's time for you to get used to winning in your technology world!

See you online tomorrow @ 5:00pm Eastern!

A prayer for Tucker Carlson
by Jeffrey Peterson
February 4, 2024

Heavenly Father, we lift up those independent journalists of extraordinary talent and influence, wherever they may be this day in our world, throughout their trials, travels and tribulations, as they seek to reveal truth and shine light into darkness.

As they take up spiritual arms against deception spread by the forces of evil, protect our independent journalists from danger, Lord. Set their hearts ablaze with unwavering devotion to You and country, sealed by the Holy Spirit. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding and remind them of Your unending grace, which calls us to repentance, promises forgiveness, and offers redemption to all who place their faith in You.

We pray that You fill such journalists with the pioneering spirit of America's Godly Founding Fathers, those faithful, fearless patriots who were willing to sacrifice it all; those who birthed a new republic conceived in liberty, under Heaven's watchful eye.

Fill hearts with passion for the ideals of justice, fairness and truth that in our nation's history, sparked peaceful outcry against tyranny. May such zeal be tempered with reason, aligned with Your perfect will, and made highly effective through Your infinite wisdom, as You did for those who shaped our classical American Constitution.

We pray that through their courageous works, bold truths will soon be revealed, capable of shaking the foundations of our society and awakening our nation from unrighteous slumber.

Use these righteous works for Your purposes, Lord. Bring the lost back to Your Word, revive forgotten virtues, and help us restore America's true God-inspired promises.

We pray for these things at this crucial time in our nation's history.

In Jesus' name.

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." - 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)

For more than two years, this channel has promoted the importance of learning about and getting involved with Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and Linux.

That message remains as true today as it was when the FOSS community first started developing, thirty or more years ago.

It’s not the only way that “We the People” can get more involved with technology instead of blindly trusting big corporations. However it is a good example.

Linux, the best engineered computer operating system in the world, came from the efforts of FOSS software developers — yes, individuals. There has been corporate participation over the years but Linux has ultimately been overseen and steered by individuals over corporations. This is a truly important example of what’s possible in the ongoing struggle for freedom. Yes, “Freedom is not free.” It’s more than a slogan. Freedom requires effort.

Ironically, most of the web servers in the world, in both private and large-scale scenarios, run on Linux as it has proven to be more secure and reliable and more cost effective than any other OS.

Yet, in the somewhat-recent history of the USA, it’s true that for the most part, the only people who were aware of FOSS and Linux, were “computer nerds.” Because it required a level of participation in terms of time and awareness with technology that exceeded what the average person felt compelled to put in, if there were easier ways to do things (i.e. MS Windows). So, most people ran Windows on their computers, and “never really thought about” the way it was eroding our freedoms to the point of ridiculousness — where it is today.

Huge implications for society and freedom in general as more of the public is educated about FOSS and Linux as examples of what we can do to ensure our rights as a free people in the future, if we get more involved, and encourage the up and coming next generation of adults to get more involved.

We’ve seen where sitting back and blindly trusting the “establishment(s)” gets us and it’s awful. Same goes for technology.

If you’ve followed the Jeff.pro channel for a while, maybe you learned something.

Maybe you learned about the parallel world of Free and Open Source Software, that was developed during the past 30 years right along side the “big tech” world. Built by people, not big corporations.

Fully transparent, Open software—where we know what it’s doing—is our way forward. Mark my words.

The libs didn’t expect mainstream America to ever learn about FOSS. They expected to be able to sell closed-off, opaque spyware to their fellow Americans forever. And as usual, they were wrong.

Someday, people will realize more about what this guy was doing. It wasn’t altruistic. I learned about it over the years when I used to be a Democrat donor. People knew about it but were afraid to talk about it.

In stock trading, there is a belief that “the short always wins” (betting that markets will decline in value, instead of rising). Not always the case, but, there can be a lot of truth to it when the short seller knows what they’re doing.

Building things requires effort, hard work, hope, optimism, belief in a better tomorrow—faith. In other words, taking on risk. Who wants risk and hard work, uncertain outcomes when you can have a sure thing by imposing destruction.

To make your own markets like he does, it requires hate, anger, a pathological willingness to manufacture harm. He creates his own “market conditions” for certain international currencies that react to the adverse political and sociological events as they are reported by the U.S. media with statistically high predictability.

As a professional short seller, particularly one who can manufacture news events like riots, arrests, etc., destruction is a “safer bet”, close to sure thing if you know how to trade it ahead of time. This guy is a currency trader/short seller who perfected the “art” of opening positions, feeding them with negative bias events and closing at a profit as “chaos” is reported. In “complex” ways that many don’t begin to understand, allowing his agenda to remain “invisible.” his business is manufacturing destruction while shorting, trading against America with exotic int’l currency trades where he always has the inside edge. More or less zero risk. That’s how he always makes money and always will as long as there’s a political party in the U.S. willing to sell him influence.

Just one of the highly destructive forces hurting America but it’s a big one. At least now you understand some more about why he does it. He’s manufacturing destruction and trading against it in sophisticated ways. Profiting from hurting our country.
