With Linux you get much better performance from your computers, and they donโ€™t spy on you.

Choose wisely, friends!

Loving Linux Mint already.

Anyone turn into a zombie yet? I happen to be surrounded by phones as I'm in the middle of loading a bunch for customers and the ones I turned off the Wireless Emergency Alert stayed completely quiet. Those that I did not made a brief alert noise for 5 seconds, if even, then went quiet.

A great reference of a typical Linux filesystem, from our friends at ByteByteGo.

This map shows the typical layout of a computer running Linux. Handy. Will look familiar if youโ€™ve been digging in to Unix-like systems for a while. ๐Ÿ‘

I just loaded Mint on an HP Pavilion touch screen for a relative, she sent it to me and I was able to log on to get her data. It was unbearably slow, I mean SLOW. Post upgrade it's most definitely usable, even sorta zippy.

It took me about 3 months to get the basics so I felt comfortable in Linux. But I kept going. The great part about learning Linux is that there is always more to discover and tinker with. It opens a whole world up!

There are Linux distributions that act just like Windows. These are easy to navigate once installed. However, I will always be learning ways to use it.

Completed the last computer a few days ago. I now have 3 running Linux and couldn't be happier. I can do everything I was doing with Windows, including Office products. Work sends me a .docx, no problem.

Took about 3 weeks to become comfortable on Linux, started with Ubuntu, now use Pop mostly, but many others as well. Have come a long way in great part thanks to this channel. Hoping to use my experience to pull others in this direction to pay it forward

Friends, for those of you who used to follow my posts about Democrat corruption on Twitter/โ€œXโ€, a few years ago, you will remember I recognized there are personalities sent in to disrupt and harm the projects we are working on.

It took some time for me to realize that. But itโ€™s a very real thing. Considering extent of the funding, sophistication, and networks of relationships the left works with, itโ€™s no surprise.

So I have this question for you today, drawing from your collective wisdom as investigators and truth seekers: Who are these people? They are sent to cause conflict, demonetize, demoralize, and otherwise harm anything we work on that poses a threat or potential threat to them, in any way. Time and time again we see the ruthlessness, the tenacity of the left. And, itโ€™s not always obvious at first, but we are learning: They do things through other people. It's how they work.

Why do they expect that We the People sometimes lack the strength or discernment to call them out, push back, to defend ourselves with the same vigor they use to try to tear us down in the most underhanded of ways?

Theyโ€™re wrong about that. Weโ€™re not so gullible to fall for their attacks, any more. Some are, but not all.

For those who asked to be updated, the results are in.

Today's poll asked : If you switched from a "big tech" computer Operating Systems like Windows or MacOS to Linux, when you first made the change, how long did it take you to learn enough about Linux to feel comfortable in your new OS?

Results:

15% - It was instant, just turned it on and I already knew everything

55% - 1 to 3 months

8% - 3 to 6 months

16% - 6 months or longer (part time learning)

6% - 6 months or longer (full time effort)

85% of those who answered acknowledged it took at least a month to learn enough about Linux to feel comfortable using it. More than 50%, however, only needed 3 months or less, to get familiar.

These results are exactly in-line with what the Jeff.pro channel always stated, that for most people, it would take "a few weeks" to "a few months" to re-orient yourself to the parallel world of Free and Open Source Software and Linux, but that moving to the new world is a way forward for your future, and itโ€™s well worth it to reclaim your digital freedom on your computers. Most people who have made the switch can see the difference clearly, after they move.

It has been my pleasure to help about 10% of the active, engaged audience on this channel learn through the paid instruction ($20/month) that supports this Telegram channel, and the other 90% learn with the free content the channel publishes every day with help of its admins, also the exact percentages (10% paid, 90% free) that were predicted when we started back in September 2021.

Other channels offer paid products to support themselves, as well. Don't hate on your fellow freedom-loving Americans who do valuable things to help out. There is a place for useful products and services in the parallel economies, away from the left.

In retrospect, it's been a productive two years for almost everyone around here in one way or another. If you didnโ€™t see any value, you probably left by now, so that was productive for you, also. ๐Ÿคฃ

Let's keep the positive momentum going. Jeff.pro is reaching audiences through new avenues. Plenty of next steps ahead in the new year. I appreciate everyone who has supported the channel very much. Difficult to put in to words how much I appreciate all of you here. Itโ€™s like a not-so-little family we brought together here on this all-American computer channel at an important time in our Nationโ€™s history. Unique times, unique subjects. The message of this channel is important, sincere, and based in truth. Just like every one one of you.

And that is a great way to be.

๐Ÿ‘† If you didnโ€™t hear yet, the next-generation Rasberry Pi, version 5, will be released soon. These are tiny, powerful for their size, dirt cheap (sub-$100) computers that are perfect for Linux education and experimentation.

But, you donโ€™t even need to get a Pi 5. You can find Rasberry Pi 3โ€™s on auction sites like Ebay for $20 bucks. And the same description goes for them. A little slower, but if youโ€™re only experimenting, you wonโ€™t notice the difference. These are complete little computers on a board. Free from spyware, free from โ€œbig tech.โ€ They run a version of the Linux OS. You can surf the internet with them, and much more.

P.S. perfect gift for a child in your life. They get months, even years of mileage out of tinkering with Rasberry Piโ€™s and theyโ€™re not really powerful enough to run video games (most parents see this as a plus), so the kids use them for stuff like learning math, spelling and writing. They can be found on your favorite online auction sites.

Great little computers to play with. I have a 4B 8G one that lives on the back of my TV in the RV. Powered with a portable battery, and it connects to my phone for internet while out in the woods. I use it mostly for logging ham radio contacts, but I can surf about with it as well.

If youโ€™re one of the several hundred learners in the Linux for Beginners class run by this channel, your invitations for tomorrowโ€™s Weekend Linux Workshop are being sent out to your e-mail now!

This week, for those new to the class, we review Week 2 of your Linux Learning by taking a look at the difference between the desktop and the command line. Do you really need to know command line instructions to use Linux? No, you don't. So why would you go to the trouble to learn them?

Then, security expert Rob Braxman talks about how โ€œfive eyes" countries are trying to grab our personal information by bypassing encryption through our computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, that such plans rely on people "acting like sheep and ignoring the threatโ€, and how switching to Linux is the best way to preserve your digital security. Rob says, "People said I was a conspiracy theoristโ€ for suggesting it. Sound familiar?

In a complicated world, learn how easy it can be to take back complete control of your computers and achieve Digital Freedom, with Linux, a complete replacement for the "big tech" Microsoft Windows on your computers!

See you online tomorrow @ 5:00pm Eastern!
