Friends, are you starting to believe we might be able to do some cool stuff with technology, if we can keep the positive energy going? I'll teach you all of their secrets about technology, even how to build important things we all need...for as long as you can put up with my voice calls and dumb jokes 😁

So....I went into Windows 10 today for the first time since installing Ubuntu on Saturday (I needed to get something in Windows). It noticed I'd plugged in a new Logitech mouse, and started installing Setpoint. HUNDREDS of megs of program files...for a mouse. WHY? After 10 min, it was only 10% done....for a mouse.
Windows was chugging along as per usual, and I noticed the fan spooling up and my keyboard getting warm (I'm on a laptop). It didn't even dawn on me until just now, how quiet, cool and silky smooth Linux runs in comparison. Also, Windows just seemed like a cobbled together mashup of stuff.

I'm done with it.
Microsoft, the tribe has spoken. You have been voted off the island.

For any new Telegram subscribers who don't know me--hi, I'm Jeff, I work with computers and technology. On tonight's voice call, we talked about taking back your digital freedom by leaving the "big tech" Windows/MacOS/Android operating systems and teaching yourself how to use free opensource Linux. It is cool, interesting stuff to learn that will help all of us in many ways you may not have first realized. God bless you and have a good night.

Here is a audio recording of tonight's Telegram voice call for those who were not able to be there live. Best wishes to you, Patriots, as you set out to discover the very robust world of Free and Open Source technology. If you, like us, are ready to leave the spying and abuses of the "big tech" Windows/MacOS/Android operating systems, Linux is Digital Freedom!

Patriots, if you have not yet joined us in our Technology chat room, you can add it to your Telegram by clicking here -> @jptchat (Disclosure: Sometimes it gets very busy, it is a lot to follow. Turn off notifications there. It is best for people who want to learn fast, from watching what everyone is talking about...if you don't mind seeing 50 new messages on the channel every time you go back. Other chat rooms on Telegram work the same way.)

Linux is traditionally about FOSS. But I would submit that the reason windows and apple have been successful in growth in the pop culture is due to their for profit models. Money motivates.
Gaming is a GREAT example. Processing power has moved forward largely because of the need in the gaming industry. Profits move forward the development of faster and faster processing to facilitate high resolution 3D graphics at 60 frames per second.
In order to move Linux forward there is enthusiasm currently. It's a need because we know that the alternative is taking advantage of us.
But we must recognize the profit, model and it's success in moving things forward. Capitalism works. We need to find a way to implement free market capitalism to help grow the Linux systems.
