Python Beginners 5 group Audio Stream - Dec. 15th 2022
Python for Beginners - Group 5
In tonight’s audio recording, Jeffrey Peterson talks about some of the outcomes from the first four groups of Python programming students who learned how to build computer programs starting in February last year.

How can learning to program a computer change your life and future? Well, that’s for you to decide. Some who entered our classes wanted to learn a new career path. Some wanted to learn a new hobby. Others wanted to learn everything they can about how their computers work, so they can make their own programs and take complete control of how their data is being used. All of that is possible with Python, which has become the world’s most popular programming language in recent years.

Python Group 5 is filling up right now. Open up a new world of knowledge for your life by learning the Python computer programming language in the new year! For details, email shane@jeff.pro!

Now, with close to 10,000 success stories (yes, you read that correctly! TEN THOUSAND!!) It’s pretty clear that FIRING BILL GATES, getting Microsoft windows off your computer, learning about the amazingly FEATURE RICH and RESOURCE RICH world of Free and Open Source Software and the Linux Operating System, is a great path forward for our digital future!

Instead of allowing our laptops to be used against us by the bad guys, Our computers should work FOR US, to make our LIVES BETTER!!!!!!!!!

I learned Mint but switched to Zorin, and my goodness do I love my laptop now. For this 65 year young female, I'm looking into degoogling my phone or getting a degoogled one to just be done with the whole system. Peace is so enjoyable.

Jeff, since I already knew enough Unix I didn't dive into your lectures. But seeing so many successful cases on this channel I finally took action about a year ago. Started with a used Lenovo T460 converted to Mint, then a brand new Lenovo IdeaPad3 to Mint without even initiated with Windows right out of the box. Then bought 3, yes 3, used X1 carbon converted to Fedora and Mint. Also degoogled my old Motorola moto G5 plus with the Arrow ROM. Then again bought a brand new Moto One Vision and flashed to Lineage OS. Turned out there was a bug with Bluetooth audio so I couldn't do phone calls in the car or with BT headphones. So that was a heart breaker... But a little while ago it was fixed so I'm very happy now.

Strangely, all my freed devices are from Lenovo...

Thanks for the information and inspiration!!!

While I prefer Mint with Cinnamon, Zorin is a great choice. I used it to prolong the life of my mom's laptop by a few years, while also finding a great OS that's friendly to new users, and could also work with my mom's wireless scanner/printer. Thanks also to Brother who makes great printers, scanners, all-in-ones, IMO, and who has made my life easier, especially in the past, with Linux support and drivers for a long time.

Start out on a completely new path in your life in the New Year. For some, it might mean a new hobby, or a new career.

The Jeff.pro channel invites you to take a free Python programming class tomorrow, Saturday Dec. 17th, 2022, at 3:00pm Eastern.

Python has grown to become the most popular computer programming language in the world. We can’t rely on only Silicon Valley to build America and the world’s software any longer. Here’s your chance to step up, get involved! Python goes well with knowledge of the Linux computer operating system that we teach on this Telegram channel.

Jeff.pro trained over 100 new Python programmers in four groups, this year. Our fifth group is filling up now. Join tomorrow’s presentation by clicking this link -> https://livewebinar.com/793-530-423

If you are one of the several hundred learners enrolled in the Linux for Beginners private course run by this channel, your invitations for tomorrow's Weekend Linux Workshop (to be held Sat. Dec. 17th @ 5:00pm ET) are being sent out to your email right now! (If you can't be there live, the wekeend workshops are always recorded so you can watch them later on the LMS!)

This week, we answer one of your most common questions: Exactly what do you get, by switching to Linux? How will my Digital life be better with Linux? We show you exactly what you "give up", (not much!) And what you gain (a lot!) when you switch away from "big tech" Operating Systems like Microsoft Windows, and join the world of Digital Freedom, with Linux!

In Unix-like systems, unlike Windows, nothing is hidden. You can know every single thing happening, and take back full control of your computer from 'big tech', once and for all!

If you can't make it to this weekend's live workshop, don't worry, it will be recorded (as always) and posted in our LMS system, for you to view with your login and password, at any time, 24/7.

Questions? Need help? email: support@jeff.pro

Enough is enough. We’re not buying it any more.

Never trust your pictures, your banking info, your important files, and the rest of your Digital life to “big tech” operating systems like Microsoft Windows, again.

Make this the year you finally FIRE BILL GATES from your laptops and all other computers.

Make 2023 the year you finally learn how to switch your computers to the world of Free and Open Source Software, and Linux. 💪

We have posted some screenshots of the old America Online service before.

However to get more specific, does anyone remember AOL messenger? 😂

Hours and hours of chats…and that sound it made every time you got a new chat message from your friends on AOL!!

Start out on a completely new path in your life in the New Year! For some, it might mean a new hobby, or a new career.

The Jeff.pro channel invites you to take a free Python programming class today! Saturday Dec. 17th, 2022, at 3:00pm Eastern.

How would your life be different if you could make a computer do anything you instructed it to do? If you could make your own programs? Why limit your business opportunities only to your ‘local market’ … what if you could deliver solutions to clients from anywhere in the world who needed someone to make custom computer applications for them?

Python has grown to become the most popular computer programming language in the world. We can’t rely on only Silicon Valley to build America and the world’s software any longer. Here’s your chance to step up, get involved! Python goes well with knowledge of the Linux computer operating system that we teach on this Telegram channel.

Jeff.pro trained over 100 new Python programmers in four groups over the course of this year. Our fifth group is filling up now! Today’s class presentation is now complete, you can email shane@jeff.pro for info on how to get on the list!

Last year on Christmas day, the Jeff.pro channel surprisingly (it was not planned!) turned in to a day-long family Dog picture gallery as everyone started posting pictures of their dogs to the channel all day long! 😂

It was great! All of us at the channel look forward to continuing the tradition this year.

So friends, get yer’ Dog pictures ready for next week! 🐕🦮🐶

What is a proper Christian response to people who claim Christmas and other Christian celebrations are “pagan?”

“I believe Christians must part company with those … who advocate totally ignoring the celebration of Christ’s birth. We are unsure of the exact date on which our Savior was born. In fact, Dec. 25 is almost certain not to be the day. Does that matter? The precise day of the year should not deter us from designating a day to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Further, there is nothing wrong with having family gatherings, exchanging gifts, sending greeting cards, singing, going to special services at church, and enjoying good food God has provided.

We should use Christmas as a special time to witness to unsaved loved ones and acquaintances too.

“Christmas is for children” is quite true. Many of us remember our early childhoods as the time when the account of the Christ Child was especially enthralling. Therefore, we adults can make Christmas a time of unselfish giving toward children (not just material things, by the way), creating great experiences that they will remember all their lives. It is an important part of bringing them up in the training and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Many of us remember events surrounding our early Christmases better than any other times during our entire childhoods.

These are responses that I believe honor the Lord. Christmas is not going to go away, and critics will always be around. If some Christians cannot in good conscience observe Christmas, or any other Christian celebration, they have the privilege of leaving it alone.”

When King Ahaz was on the throne a prophet called Isaiah was speaking God’s Word to the people.

One of the promises that God gave through Isaiah was this, in Isaiah 9:2 we read, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

God’s people were desperately waiting for this light to shine into the darkness of their world.

And that is why Christmas is such a wonderful time.

The light has shone.

The one who can save His people from their sins has finally arrived.

He will save His people from their sins

The imperfect characters in the family tree of Jesus reminds us why the world so desperately needed a Saviour.

Look at Matthew verse 18. After this list of names – into the darkness of this family line, we read in verse 18, “This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.”

Jesus – His name means “God saves” – and His title ‘Christ’ means the Messiah – the promised King.

Jesus is the promised one – the one God’s people had been longing for.

And look at the most glorious news in verse 21, “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he WILL save his people from their sins.”

Imagine Joseph’s heart missing a beat as he heard those words.

Finally! Finally the one with the power to sort out sin was on His way.

Finally into the darkness the light was dawning.

The light has dawned

This baby in the manger who we are remembering and celebrating today – came to save the dark world from our sins.

This Christmas morning should fill us with great joy.

Jesus has shone the light of salvation into our dark world.

That is why lights are such an appropriate decoration this time of year.

Now what?

So today light those candles

Turn on the Christmas lights on your tree or around your home.

But let all of those flickering, twinkling lights remind you of the greatest light that has shone into history.

It is a mind bending thought that the same voice that said, “Let there be light!” – that same voice could be heard crying in the manger that first Christmas.

On that day angels sang and lit up the sky. Hope rang out in a newborn’s cry. The saviour was born!

The light has shone into the darkness.

As we look at Jesus’ family tree you may have at times wondered how some of these people could possibly lead up to Christ.

But just as these people were in the line leading to Christ, so our names can be included in the line that leads from Christ.

He came to save people like that – and people like this – people like you and me – He came to save us from our sins.

Jesus was the only hope for the people in His family tree – Jesus is the only hope for all of us living in this dark, sinful world

The light is still shining in the darkness.

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!

Hail, the Sun of righteousness!

Light and life to all He brings,

Risen with healing in His wings,

Mild, He lays His glory by;

Born that man no more may die;

Born to raise the sons of earth;

Born to give them second birth.

Hark! The herald angels sing:

‘Glory to the new-born King!

This is a King worth celebrating. Let’s celebrate Him today – and every day.

The light of Salvation has shone into the darkness of our world.

Joy to the world the Lord has come!
