A bunch of you asked me to start a blog. I will be doing that. There were many questions about organizing workshops to learn more hands-on about Linux and coding. It is clear there are many smart people here and I hope to be able to help everyone learn those things faster than you may elsewhere. After many years of training teams I have come up with some good approaches to simplifying the journey. With that in mind there are a ton of learning resources available online. Searches on many of the topics people ask about will bring you to hundreds of videos on Youtube or Rumble that will get you started in Linux, coding, the open source ecosystem, cyber security and so forth. None of this is a secret. The Linux and opensource ecosystem has been around for a long time, you will find it is a "undiscovered gem" of value that can quickly change the way you feel about your technology for the better. But yes, aside from what you can find from your own searches, I will be writing for everyone about those things as well.

You might also touch on DNS. Huge privacy (and censorship) issue since most people use defaults on all devices. Cloudflare and Google DNS are no alternatives either. The one who handles your DNS request knows all the pages you visit. Providers are known to sell this data for profit. LE uses it for surveillance. Easy to fix.

I must say that it is incredibly refreshing to find such a group that is genuinely kind and wants to help others. The left is so all-consuming and hate-filled that it can be hard to stay positive.

MS users always tell me how I can't do things in Linux, and yet I do, over and over.

Locked in my home in New Zealand. I am an American Citizen and can’t leave the country because my marriage here has sadly broken up, not to mention the insane travel restrictions on both sides. My teenage son is suicidal. Our government is tyrannical. I’m on a small island and am finding it impossible to connect with anyone here even though I keep reaching out. everyone here is so brainwashed and those who aren’t are too afraid to do or say anything at all. I love the community here on Pepe. I love America and freedom. I love God and my faith grows stronger every day. We need your help here big time but what I am asking for now is simply some prayers that I can continue to keep my son safe. Thank you and God Bless every one of you and everyone who is hurting in the world right now.

RH 5.0 was my start, because I was too poor in college, and my AST 386sx couldn't play an mp3 and Minesweeper at the same time. But in linux, i was able to keep that computer usable through graduation.
