META IS LOSING ITS FOCUS

It was reported last night by several tech blogs that Facebook (recently rebranded as 'meta') is seeking alternate revenue streams with "virtual tokens" internally called "Zuck Bucks" for the Metaverse, and exploring entering the financial services business with lending services, as the popularity of its main products falls.

OPINION: We think things are starting to look desperate at "meta" as they continue to lose focus. Maybe Zuck's dirty work for the Democrats isn't paying off the way he hoped it would.

For performance and features, which would you recommend:

I'm leaning strongly towards Manjaro - particularly choice A - but I'd like to get some input before I make this decision. Thanks! 👍

VPN merger: We recently learned that popular VPN service NordVPN acquired another VPN brand, Surfshark, in February of this year.

Thus far, we are cautiously optimistic about the Nord and Surfshark VPN brands. It it worth noting that they remain independent of other popular VPN brands acquired last year by the questionable Kape Technologies, such as ExpressVPN.

I use Surfshark, purchased explicitly because they said they would never sell out. a LOT of VPN companies have been purchased directly or indirectly by China, which means they can get access to your data if they want! I am hoping this merger does not result in a SELLOUT to China

Tech blog The Verge is reporting that this year, for the first time, Facebook ("meta") will not hold its once-popular F8 developer conference. The conference was at one time a favorite among Silicon Valley crowds.

👆👆👆Follow up to the above post. Facebook is taking a "brief break" from its annual f8 developer conference, because of the 'Metaverse'. It's definitely not because their main business, the Social Network, is in freefall, with users abandoning ship. Nope. Not that.

I did not know anything about my computer before I joined. I had no idea where my files were saved or how to backup my computer. Now I can't be trusted to be left alone with anyone's computer, because I might install Linux. Today in the tax accessor's office I had the urge to install Linux while he was in the bathroom. Try it.
