In a move revealing shocking incompetence to many computer experts -- only this week, Microsoft appears to have finally understood the value and importance of HTTPS. "For reasons best known to the company, anyone looking to download updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog have had to do so via HTTP links -- but no longer.

It's just another example of how Microsoft manages to sustain the myth that Windows is "the best" or "the most advanced" Operating System when in fact it is far from it.

Yes, you read that correctly. Only this month, in April of 2022, Microsoft finally changed Windows to start using secure HTTPS for system updates and downloads. 🤯

👆👆👆 The "most secure and trusted" Microsoft Windows Operating System (including Windows 11), used by governments, schools, end-users worldwide, for the past thirty-seven years, only started using HTTPS for updates, this month!

until now, all Windows update data was transmitted over insecure, unencrypted HTTP.

It's an embarassing, "mind-blowing" display of incompetence at Microsoft.

Yup, no words for this one, Microsoft... #smh how did it take you 15 years to make that move? Oh well, makes Linux look that much better... good job, geniuses.

HP All-in-one still has Windows 10 but can switch back and forth to Zorin via USB Stick. Love it. Gives me time to clean up Windows and make a permanent switch. Trust Zorin and what I build into it on the USB Stick can eventually be copied to the SSD. Then it's bye bye Win.

A geomagnetic storm is hitting the earth at the moment.

"A geomagnetic storm, also known as a magnetic storm, is a brief disruption of the Earth's magnetosphere generated by a solar wind shock wave and/or cloud of magnetic field interacting with the Earth's magnetic field."

Although these storms have the potential to disrupt electronics, the good news is, this one isn't too strong. Watch for radio interference, possibly some lights in the northern night sky, etc.

We think this is real. An edit button for Twitter? About time. Thanks Elon! Twitter was rumored to be considering an edit button since last year. It's only been a few days since he stepped in to the picture, looks like it will happen now.

We recognize it's going to take time for him to earn trust--if he even can--but in the meantime, an edit button seems like a positive development.
