Hello Liberty Loving Linux family! This is what I'm doing right now as an alternative to Spotify and iTunes. On my Linux Mint laptop, I went on YouTube with my FreeTube app (freetubeapp.io) and downloaded some music. Yes, you can download any video for free, or download it as audio only for music. Today, I got "Vintage Spring Music." Then, I used VLC player to play the songlist. BOOM! No need for Spotify or iTunes. The more I do this, the more I build up my music collection while bypassing Big Tech. I love it!

Love this group. Thank you for all who have helped me. New milestone today. The last frontier was my phone and my ipad. Phone was replaced with Pixel 4a running Lineage OS with a faraday pouch for good measure! Ipad gone, replaced by a MacBook Air running Zorin. Facebook - gone. Have my own webpage on my own Virtual Private Server. I control for me to post anything that is important to me to those I love and care for. My VPN is my own on my own server. None of this would be possible without this group. All in less than 5 months by following the lead with this team. Thank you Thank you Thank You.

I'm one week in with a Pixel 3A. Worked out most of my difficulties. I have every app I need up and running. I'm still looking for a good FOSS email and would appreciate any other FOSS apps y'all recommend

Good morning! Just to pass something along for anyone who might not know, especially the newer TGram users.. Did you know you can create .mp3 music playlist channels, as well as the same thing for movie files up to 2 gigs size? TGram will use it's built in players to play them all in the list. Just set your created playlists to not allow comments so the playlists aren't interrupted, and they will play through. I've got several different music genre playlists. Works flawlessly. Plug in or bluetooth a good external speaker and away you go. You can drive the teenagers in the house nuts with older stuff :)

I found Jeff’s feed here on Telegram, the first day he posted.. I installed my first Linux Ubuntu 20.04 about 3 weeks ago. A bit difficult to learn the language, but, a week ago, I installed Linux-Mint-Mate on my office machine, Ubuntu Server on my media server in my basement, (now streaming 348 gigs 114 movies and 64,000 pics and 1200+ home movies across my network, (downloaded from “OneDrive”)using Plex Media Server for remote access, put Linux Mint On my other 2 computers (had to leave one windows machine for now, for my nephews to play halo and a few others) and today I cancelled my Microsoft office accounts (yes multiple).. I’m now Microsoft free.. Now I need to get rid of these fricking Apple IPhones..

So I hopped on the lms to go through Jeff's videos and watching lesson 20 Desktop Environments. I have Mint installed and while watching, installed KDE Plasma. Restarted and selected that DE. Started up great so far. Kinda blown away actually. Gonna go finish watching the lesson now.
