iFixit Tech Toolkit
We think this tech toolkit is pretty cool & useful for taking apart laptops, phones, and other tech equipment.
They have other similarly useful things on their website. Nothing to do with us. We just point stuff out. ifixit.com

According to recent reports, the MeWe Social Network continues to grow.
Anyone here have thoughts or opinions about MeWe?
A lot of people were talking about them early last year. Since then, we heard they were censoring and deleting some accounts so, there are mixed reviews.

Ironically, the Google Pixels are some of the easiest cellphones to "de-Google," then reinstall with a "non-big tech" O.S., for those who are interested in doing that. And they are pretty cheap on the refurbished marketplaces. Makes a good backup, or primary phone.
Look for them on your favorite auction site (Ebay?) or backmarket.com. Maybe some of you know better places to find them.

A PRAYER FOR STRENGTH
Faithful Father,
For reasons I do not yet understand,
you have generously fed my heart
with another incredible blessing,
as I have again witnessed
your miracles in this world,
in irrefutable ways,
that I know, and You know,
were only possible due to Your hand,
for the second time in my life,
here on earth.
And,
I am reminded of your faithfulness that never fails.
My faith will continue growing,
because of your love and mercy.
Today I pray with friends and neighbors,
As we stand in these important days,
before a broken and corrupt world,
Help us to stay strong by renewing our strength,
As we look to the cross,
and see Your Son breaking the chains of sin and death.
Help us to move mountains in faith.
We know,
In the name of Jesus Christ, all things are possible.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Another good article shows us how to retain the familiar look of our desktops, while getting away from the spying and abuses of "big tech" with the powerful KDE desktop environment for GNU/Linux.

PRO TIP: laptops with AMD graphics work great with GNU/Linux.
While the Linux O.S. does work with NVIDIA accelerators, many Linux users prefer laptops with AMD graphics, as the 'drivers' (necessary install files) for AMD hardware are Open Source in Linux, with better compatibility. As an added bonus, the AMD processors are great for privacy and security at the 'system' level of your laptop.

It's not too late to fix the future of our technology
Disturbing terms like "Surveillance State" and "Social Credit Scores" are trying to work their way in to our society, promoted by front-organizations with spokespeople who look and sound like something from a bad movie, like "Dr. Evil" himself.
The bizarre concepts we are hearing depend on technology that works against us, built by people who hate us and sellout politicians who are trying to enable these horrible ideas as part of our future. How do "We the People" fix it?
Join Jeff.pro founder Jeffrey Peterson for a Live Stream presentation about all of the above, here on Telegram, this evening, Feb. 23rd, 2022 @ 8:00pm EST.

Been saying "THEY MUST BE STOPPED!" since Windows 3.0. Something is VERY wrong when a man's net worth goes from zero to over 100 billion dollars in 10 years.

Windows 10 was my last. After following all the wonderful posts on here for several months, I took the plunge last week, partitioned my computer and installed Linux Mint. I have been transferring all my programs over as I learn all about my new OS. I am not super computer savvy and 73 years old, but I've had very few problems due to the ease of installing Mint. I am going to hang on to Windows since I play a lot of non-Linux, online video games (I'm on my second childhood). That's all Widows will be able to see from me in the future. IF I CAN DO IT.....ANYONE CAN! FREEEEDOOM! 😁

Same here. Win 10 is the end of my volitional MSFT journey.

As for MSFT, if you're currently paying for Office (as I am), LibreOffice that comes with Linux Mint Cinnamon works just as well. I will be canceling my Office account prior to my next monthly payment as I really don't need it anymore.

I switched to LibreOffice recently and it seems to work just fine. Prior to that I started to use OpenOffice, which also does open source documents, spreadsheets, etc. I probably used it for 10 or 15 years before going to LibreOffice.

I gave in and hired a young guy to install my linux mint. I am loving it and am now focused on learning commands and the linux language. It is a fun adventure. Thank you Jeff!!
