Just got my de-googled pixel, can someone let me know if there is just a way to pull my pictures over from my iPhone, trying to avoid a complete data transfer to make sure nothing unwanted makes it to phone.

I have a dumb question - can you buy a phone that isn’t a smart phone anymore or do you have to de-Google/Apple any phone you buy? Doing research to share with folks - thanks and pointing to articles would be appreciated. -

Just go into Best Buy or any other store selling cell phones and tell them you’re looking for a Dumb Phone. That is the terminology I think they use to refer to a basic phone that just makes calls and may send text messages, but doesn’t access the Internet.

I run Calyx on a pixel 4. It's a treat.

The entire evolution has been largely painless outside the Brother printer install that still doesn’t work. The best part… I am master of my own destiny, finally. That’s priceless.

i am dual boot macos / Ubuntu for 4 months now and honestly i realise i dont boot as much on macos than i did a while ago, im almost fully Ubuntu , except for that one app..once i fix my issue, will crush the disk and only install Ubuntu!

Just finished switching over to Linux Mint Cinnamon on my main computer. Switched from Quicken to GnuCash for my personal accounting. Now have no Windows active on any of my three systems (desktop and two laptops). Next up is to replace my poor Galaxy S9+ phone with something deGoogled before it explodes from too many years of overcharging the battery.

Funny how much easier to switch than I expected—and how little I miss Windows.
