I'm 65 yo. I've loaded Linux mint cinnamon on 1 old acer about 2015 and an HP 2012. Tossed windows 10 and windows 7 went straight up linux.. Not much IT knowledge. Just go into Best Buy or any other store selling cell phones and tell them you’re looking for a Dumb Phone. That is the terminology I think they use to refer to a basic phone that just makes calls and may send text messages, but doesn’t access the Internet.

I run Calyx on a pixel 4. It's a treat.

Having suffered MS boot-up times approaching infinity, I’m now on Zorin 16 OS with the CAD and vector art systems I’ve needed for a decade but wouldn’t purchase and I’m digging into Python.

The entire evolution has been largely painless outside the Brother printer install that still doesn’t work. The best part… I am master of my own destiny, finally. That’s priceless.
