If you are in our Linux for Beginners ongoing class, this weekend we will be doing a workshop on the new buzzword sweeping the technology media: Web3.
Web3 is more than "just crypto," in fact we at the Jeff.pro channel at not big in to crypto. Many new technologies are emerging as part of Web3's promises to "decentralize" computing. Some of this may be helpful, like Web3 websites that can't be censored, some of the new technologies could be harmful, depending on how you see things.
We think it will be useful for Patriots to have an unbiased introduction to Web3, so we can at least hold our own in conversations about Blockchain technologies and and so everyone can intelligently debate the new Web3 as time goes on. So, we will provide an overview about it as a starting point, this Saturday @ 5:00pm EST in our Linux for Beginners Weekend Workshop.

Patriot tech building tips Most of the popular Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 websites controlled by the Woke Leftist Commie Mob are just big databases with a clean-looking graphical front end (user interface) designed by a few digital artists.
They are built with Unix-like Free Operating Systems on the server side, like BSD and Linux, and teams of developers with a few (1 to 3) years of programming experience.
This applies to sites like Twitter (big tweet database), Ebay (big forsale database), AirBnB (big rentals database), others. Don't let them make you believe it's hard to build replacements. It's not.

I'm about to start my 1st journey into Linux. Just in case something goes terribly wrong, I'm installing Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3 alongside Win7 on a 2007 Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX Notebook. It was a turtle with Windows Vista and Windows 7. Let's see if Linux wakes it up. π€π

This is a recording of tonight's replay from Jan. 26th, 2022 of a talk by GNU/Linux co-founder Dr. Richard Stallman, to the Jeff.pro User Group.
It is quite an extraordinary event for our group to connect with "rms". During the past thirty years, Stallman has been recognized by the technology community as the most influential advocate for Digital Freedom, frequently criticizing visible technology personalities such as Steve Jobs of Apple, and Microsoft's Bill Gates.
In 1983, Stallman started the Free Software Foundation and development of GNU, later merging with the OS Kernel developed by Linus Torvalds in 1992, becoming GNU/Linux, the world's most popular Operating System alternative to "big tech" OS's like Microsoft Windows and MacOS. Maintained by tens of thousands of programmers in many popular "distros" like Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora, and others, more than 90% of the world's internet servers run on GNU/Linux due to its stability and precision engineering.

Picked up a HP desktop for $50 online, now running Linux Mint with KDE 8GB ram, 1TB HD. Can't tell the difference from my HP Envy laptop. Just bought it to play with and burn more drives with Linux without having to open my laptop and disconnect the SDD. Repurposing old tech to fight big tech! How many people can we help with low cost alternatives to feeding the enemy buying expensive new tech or worse forever financing their garbage
