Our country has slowly slipped into a Big Tech oligarchy run by a powerful few vs We The People. It was subtle at first, but now it's blatantly obvious. We need to vote with our money, starving these criminals out. And by switching to a Linux based Mobile OS we will regain our Liberty and Fredom as Jeffrey P. has so wisely shared with us. We are holding the keys to the castle, ladies and gentlemen. Let's be Proactive and Act Now!

Has anyone seen Joe Rogan's latest podcast with Dr. Robert Epstein? I'm listening to it now. He's talking about the horrendous surveillance and manipulation that Google gets up to.

I really want to leave GMAIL, but I am so used to all the office applications and storage. I am very well aware that if is is free, in the end we, the users, are the product. My question is, besides proton mail, which email provider is in your opinion safe nowadays? Even if it means paying for it? Thank you.

My specialty in the military was electronics repair, component level, 12 years, it's what I was doing when the "FIRST" MAC computer came out. Already had an ibm PC with a whopping 250 mb drive. Been building desktops ever since, My down fall, never learning the program side of things. Well until now, Thank you Jeff, I am trying a whole new angle here, it's rough with 30 plus years of bad habits using MS. ππ

Everyday I read of another device happily disconnecting from big tech.
It is very refreshing to read about the numbers of owners who have learned how to install the various versions of Linux to allow them to put big tech behind them.

Unfortunately I'm forced to use Windows for college, but my personal machine is actually a Linux virtual machine within the windows laptop.
I run Oracle VM virtualbox to host the virtual machine. It's kind of nice because I can try many different flavors of Linux by just making a new virtual machine, I don't have to install it on a real computer to try it out, and it only takes about ten minutes to make a new one.

I'm ready to go Linux with my mid 2014 Macbook Pro. From what I've read, Ubuntu seems the way to go. My hesitation arises from the many pictures and important docs I have on this computer. I can save on external drive...but is there some kind of conversion process that I'll need to figure out? I don't want an OS that can't read my files. I'm not super tech savvy. Any advice is appreciated!

Starting in the 1980's, Richard Stallman (L) and then Linus Torvalds (R) created the GNU+Linux computer Operating System. Available in numerous distribution versions, called "Distros," GNU+Linux runs on hundreds of millions of computers worldwide, today.
In development for more than 30 years, GNU+Linux is "Free as in Freedom," returning Digital sovereignty back to the people, allowing you to operate your computer, your laptop, and in the future...your Mobile device, independent of 'big tech' OS's that lock you in and spy on you, like Microsoft Windows.
Stallman, for many years, has been viewed as the most recognizable "anti-Bill Gates" figure by the international technology community due to his stubborn, never-ending advocacy for Digital Freedom.
