So cool! I am sharing everywhere I go! Last week visited a local Staples for a small scanner and ended up talking with a Linux KNOWLEDGEABLE sales associate. He had not heard of our "movement" but was very enthusiastic about Linux Mint! Exciting days!!

Question: I’ve enjoyed waze but given it’s Google, I read some articles on privacy today for it and it’s as nasty as the other G-stuff. I deleted all my route history and bookmarks. 1. Anything else I should consider to clean it up before I delete it? 2. I’m on an iPhone still (but will consider a Linux based). Is there any safe/good/private alternative to waze? Would it be better to get a standalone GPS unit than a phone app? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Interesting discovery: I popped in on an Andrew Torba (Gab CEO) livestream after church this morning as he was answering questions. He said he got off of Windows 15 years ago and uses Linux!

Got manjaro today on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Everything worked great! If anyone has some tips what I should do please let me know!

Ok finally looking to take the plunge.. can anyone recommend a distro that's lightweight enough for a laptop that's a few years old with similar functionality to Windows for a newbie like myself? 😊

My laptop has barely worked out of the box since I bought it three years ago with all the crap Microsoft have bogged it down with. It could be so much better!

Does anybody have any thoughts on two factor authentication apps? I'm just not sure I like the idea of somebody else managing the pass code generator.

Mint cinnamon is super user friendly. I’ve got it now on two old HPs and running great!

Speaking of smart tv's, I will assume I have a couple, neither of which is connected to the internet (although dir tv keeps telling me I need to) My question is this, we will be dropping dir tv about the time they drop OAN (my husband watches nothing else), my plan is to attach my newly minted laptop to it with an HDMI cord and let it stream OAN for him. Can I safely assume it won't be able to send anyone anything with a linux in the way? Or am I going to have to learn to shut ports really soon? Haven't gotten that far in either the classes or the book.

When did you use Lineage and have the issues? I haven't had any issues yet in 3 months of updates

🏛💵 Big Tech Goes Big on Lobbying Efforts

In the face of ongoing antitrust investigations and at times damning press coverage concerning Facebook, Amazon and Google, the uptick in these companies' lobbying budget also seems logical. The increase in lobbying funds of a majority of GAFAM (G👀gle, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, and Microsoft) can also be explained by President Joe Biden's staff choices and the current political climate.

Our country has slowly slipped into a Big Tech oligarchy run by a powerful few vs We The People. It was subtle at first, but now it's blatantly obvious. We need to vote with our money, starving these criminals out. And by switching to a Linux based Mobile OS we will regain our Liberty and Fredom as Jeffrey P. has so wisely shared with us. We are holding the keys to the castle, ladies and gentlemen. Let's be Proactive and Act Now!

Has anyone seen Joe Rogan's latest podcast with Dr. Robert Epstein? I'm listening to it now. He's talking about the horrendous surveillance and manipulation that Google gets up to.

All the more reason to go away from MSFT, Google, Apple, etc... Loving my Linux machines.... Have 2 OnePlus devices running lineage!!
