Has anyone noticed how 'big tech' sure has been having a rough time, ever since our group came along? We're talking about record system outages, Facebook/Meta literally offline for almost an entire day in October, repeated Amazon AWS server crashes, even the fake news media reporting about big tech privacy abuses.
We're not saying it's only because of our group of 40k Patriots, but, our faith is strong and we sure do pray a lot. And some of us believe that even one prayer can be more powerful than the entire stock market. 🙏

Even before I knew about this channel or had ever heard about Linux, I knew things needed to change in the way I used tech. I started by deleting the social media apps long before I deleted the accounts themselves. I made it less convenient for me to log in and I took away that tiny bit from FB and IG. Then I found this channel and pulled out a 9 or 10 year old laptop and worked my way through the process of installing Elementary OS and wiping windows. I used my other laptop to type in about a hundred “how do I…” questions as I went through the process and then went about doing some personal customizations. It took time. Using the terminal is still not my favorite, but I’m glad I have some experience with it. When I talk to my husband about all of this he just sort of stares at me lol! I ask if I need to slow down and he says “You just threw a lot at me and I’m trying to process it” 😄 I’m enjoying this new hobby of learning and doing little, incremental things to push big tech further away and keep my tech life more private. I can’t do it all right now, but I CAN do SOME things.

I really enjoy vivaldi as a browser. I just recently realized they have mail. It seems to be nicely integrated but I don't plan on using due toalready having a proton mail professional plan that includes a business .com email

I want Steam, but I refuse to go back to Windows, so I'm installing SteamOS (which is based on Linux) to an external hard drive

I wish I could say I have started using Linux. I have been talking about Linux and the need to go there probably for fifteen years. I am a mere USER who really needs a young mentor to help me offload the vitally important data accumulated on my hard drive. Only then can I start. But I have associated Linux with Liberty for a long, long time!!

So many choices it’s like a kid in a candy shop! And what names like mint and cinnamon and raspberry pie to boot it’s not helping the candy shop thing🤣

I have periodically gone back and relistened to Jeffrey Peterson's audio chats... Its amazing how I hear things differently the more I learn... Many things just went right over my head when i first heard them (back when Linux and distro were brand new words). September 23rd is one of my favorites. I think my Linux-Ambassador message improves as I listen, too!!

I understand this! I'm new to all this, and that's the part that is 'holding me up,' too, figuring out how to 'get everything' before changing up ☺️. You aren't alone!

Question. . I am seeing many computer cpu's fail right about the time that the microsoft operating system is due for and upgrade. I have 4 cpu's that all work fine except the hdd has/or is about to fail. Is anyone seeing this pattern.??? I am changing the hdd to a ssd with linux installed and it is working out really well. Good price, durable(no moving parts) and not expensive. Best part is that we can continue to use the computer instesd of throwing it away.

I believe it’s all part of “planned obsolescence” it’s with everything. It’s a way of always keeping us buying new things and spending more and more just to maintain the things we use like our technology and vehicles. Another reason why the ruling elites don’t want us fixing our own things. They can’t feed off us if we do that. Incidentally they wouldn’t have the money to spend in China on manufacturing viruses to “escape” and justify mail in voting either. Sorry, off on a tangent there lol!

A guy I used to work with had the message coming up on Windows all the time that his hard drive was failing, so he purchased a new hard drive and someone imaged his machine for him. He gave me that "failing" hard drive in exchange for my doing a welding job for him which I was happy to do free for him anyway.
That was about five years ago now and that hard drive is in one of my Linux laptops and gets used all the time and never misses a beat.

Exact same here! I tried 4 or 5 different versions of Linux. Lots of frustration but then I realized what a learning experience it was. I have Ubuntu 20.04 on an old HP 2000 laptop with KDE Plasma and it runs like a champ. This machine will be next, then my phone. A whole new world of safety and security opened up thanks to this channel.

Where do I start? I have an old laptop that I would like to try to learn how all this works.
Someone asked why we don't write more about Windows and Mac software.
We could, and we do, actually, sometimes. Yet the premise of this Telegram channel is that America's trust has been violated by 'big tech' and it's beyond repair. We don't want you to waste your time living in a technology world that is built to spy on you and control you. The trust is lost to where it's not coming back.
This channel is about showing you a better way forward with your technology. If you've followed us, you know we teach you about Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and the Linux Operating System.
It's a new world for many, but it's good. It is independent from 'big tech'. When you learn Linux, you can put the spying and abuses of Windows behind you, you will be back on the right path for the future with your technology.
Free and Open Source Software is our way forward, out of the 'big tech swamp', to restore our Digital Freedom.

I totally agree, I thought about doing it and thought "what is the worst that can happen? " then I took a deep breath and jumped in...I am so glad I did, using a computer is new and exciting again. I now look forward to using my computer more than using my toaster!

I converted months ago to Linux Mint and no looking back, I was so pleased with the results I just started helping! Honestly necessity is the mother of invention, I was playing around with formatting an external drive, and being tired mistook and reformatted my internal Windows drive. I just shrugged my shoulders and dug in. It has become my happy place! :)
