It's not as hard as they'd have you believe it is. Hardest part is getting everyone's mindset right, so, we will talk about that from time to time. Minimum, everyone can learn alot. And that's really important, considering where we're coming from.
Good brands are difficult. I have some we can use. We will build some search technology first. Those who are interested can learn how the development process works, along the way. If you're starting from zero, it will take you at least a few months to get to the point of where you're productive. If you're already at least an intermediate level developer, send me your resume, for now at admin@corp.cyberportal.com
Alright. So we will go through an educational exercise, starting real soon, I'll show everyone how a big, industrial size, consumer facing search engine is built. If any other experienced tech people want to step in and help out, you are more than welcome. It's going to take a lot of human resources to make it happen in a meaningful way, so, it's not a team that can be organized overnight. Shouldn't take too long to get going, though.
It will take some time to explain plans and so forth. If this sort of thing is interesting to you, even as an observer, stick around and we'll get through it with a bit of time. In a week or two, you will understand a lot more than you do now, and things might even start to make sense....and possibly even get interesting. Alright? Ok. As we build something meaningful to address search technology, we will also embark building our own chat app, and we will build it right. Both projects. No venture capitalists, no politically conflicted investors, no CIA, just a bunch of us who would like to believe we're actually using transparent, good, well built technology that is so badly needed in both categories. The technology we build will co-exist with everything else out there. Maybe ours will even be considered good over time. That would be my goal. Again, at a minim, let's educate a bunch of people who may not be otherwise inclined to learn all of this, quickly. Some good will come out of the education. It's badly needed.
That's what I offer--more than anything else--to show people how it's built. And help out with educating as many well intentioned Patriots as possible. Alright? I'll be around to do that. Maybe we'll even build two great projects over the coming months that can make a difference. I will give it my best.
There's only, I'd say, 10, (ten), big, constantly updating search indexes in the world as of right now. Google is the biggest. Microsoft's "bing" is #2. There's a few others. For the most part, Google's search index dominates everything. The way I see it, that's a huge problem. The people need to build a big, real time, dynamic search index that is actually "not" evil. (Remember how Google started out saying they wouldn't "be evil?" Ha.) There's a longer story about how things ended up this way, in terms of the lack of innovation in the search sector, but we will talk about that another day.
Here you go. A blank slate, day 1. Not much to it. We will build our own proprietary search index behind that brand, I'll explain every step of the way. Again, we will need a significant sized team of developers. I propose we train people rather than trying to "deprogram" and "convince" existing developers to join.
If you're not convinced yet by the brand, don't worry too much about it. It's "good enough" for our educational project. The proprietary database (that has not even been started yet), that will sit behind the public-facing brand is what we will really be focused on building. That database can, and should, power hundreds of independent search brands in the ... hopefully ... near future.
No one has done this yet. Some entrepreneurs have stepped forward to build "alternative" and "freedom of speech" social networks. No one has done anything around search. It's equally as important a category to build technology in. But there's a lot more to it, than building a simple social network, which can be done with a small team. So. We will get started quickly.
After we get this search brand under development, we will start work on a chat app. Both are important. The stuff I'm explaining here is enough to digest for tonight so we will move on to talking about chat technologies at a future date.
There will be some people who are negative about these projects. There always are. Be ready for it.
Big technology projects are built by teams. I'll show everyone how that works. It is an interesting thing to be on a development team even in a limited role such as quality checking or helping to write some part of the documentation. Teams are great when you get good people on them and when you can see progress being made it's highly motivating to everyone.
By the way there are indeed a few "other" search projects that are under development if you look around the entire internet. That is not a problem at all. It is good news for everyone, in fact. Google doesn't fear them so far because they're so far ahead. There are new arenas opening up for search though, which we will talk about, new technologies to be built in to search databases and room for competitive innovation. And, if you're interested in learning about how big technology projects are built, a search project--for a bunch of reasons--is one of the best possible projects to work on.
We will start in a humble, realistic way in terms of architecture and scale up as the projects move forward. It is way more efficient, and practical, to build technology in these categories now than it was ten years ago for example. For that reason, I always expect that more entrepreneurs will step up and start building new projects....it's a shame that most of the innovation has historically come out of one region (Silicon Valley) of the U.S., doesn't have to be that way.

Im writing a learning program now for school age kids. I know when I work with other creatives we are able to come up with amazing ideas and work product together. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I know you will create greatness. Happy to see this positivity. The seed grows under great pressure from the earth. We are all growing from this. ๐

I find when people tell me I canโt do something, that is the exact motivation I need to prove them wrong.

That's why we need search and chat free from the current overlords.

Thank you so much! I followed you on twitter but I left that dump in January. I am glad you are here where more productive communication is possible.

It's amazing that we are here, building something. I have been reading the late section of Exodus where they are given the designs for the temple, and where they build it. Artisans specially gifted by God, directed by the Holy Spirit. I do not believe this to be a mistake or coincidence that I am reading these passages at this time. May the Lord bless the work of our hands!
