Thank you to all for replying. A bit of comfort knowing it will be a while, but Iβm still motivated to go FOSS. Would like to know if thereβs a way to counter pegasus (sp?)

Just partitioned my laptop yesterday and installed Zorin OS 16. Running smoothly so far on my Dell Latitude 5410. I would have gone all the way but my work requirements in IT keep me still locked into Windows. Inching closer though to completely replacing Windows.
Happy Friday, friends! Some questions for you, about how our country is currently situated, with 'big tech' controlling so much of what's happening in our economy.
Amazon dominates e-commerce in the U.S., yet despite huge market share, they've never paid out dividends to investors and shareholders. Isn't that something? Yes, people have made money in the form of capital gains by investing in Amazon, which would have required significant capital and holding time, not realistic for most Americans. Many of those who earned capital gains from Amazon shares are big, "institutional investors."
Why hasn't Amazon ever returned cash to investors in the form of a dividend? Why not pay stock dividends to employees? Even top customers, for that matter? In other words, why hasn't America's largest retailer, found ways to share its prosperity with main street Americans? Interested to hear your thoughts, if you agree, disagree, think it's wrong of me to ask, or any input on this. Thanks!!

Hey guys. Where to get a decent performance unlocked phone that doesn't cost an arm and leg? Thanks!

Maybe we should consider doing a big withdrawal from big tech for New Year's Eve resolutions. I am planning on leaving Amazon and de-googling my phone for my resolution. Maybe if others plan the same thing, we could all rip off the band-aid together.

On this Telegram channel, we teach Patriots how to defeat tyrannical 'big tech' organizations like Microsoft (Windows), Apple, Google, and more, by learning to use Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and the Linux Operating System.
We go beyond the concept of 'alternate platforms', to the place where you need to be to truly take back control -- the operating system level -- and show you how to get complete control over your technology, once and for all. Linux is the future, it is Digital Freedom!

Can't find a good church?
Find a few friends and gather.
Read the Word together.
Sing a song, even if your voice quavers a bit.
It will do you good.

βοΈThe Right to Modify Hardware and Software for Personal Use
In addition to having the right to choose between Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and proprietary software, we believe that we should also have the right free from corporate hindering to modify hardware and/or software for our own use.
From Admin @Slamminbones:
"I'm not sure if this is common knowledge now or not, but according to repair . org : "The U.S. Copyright Office has determined that users should be able to tinker with their firmware to perform security research, improve security and detach devices from from default passwords.""
However, we know that this is not always the case with Big Tech corporations such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft, for example.
Another admin suggested: "...(D)oes anyone have contacts to some decent congressmen ? I've thought about making some proposals on 'right to run your own OS' and rights on (technical specifications) for writing your own drivers, basically prohibiting...the '(Hardware-&-Software)-as-one-product' combination. By my proposal, a (Hardware) vendor MUST provide specs so people can write drivers on their (own), failing to do so (would lead) to full ban from the market."
We, The People can get this moving by bringing this to the attention of our elected representatives at the state and federal level and demanding that this issue be addressed and resolved in a constitutional manner. You can also reference the link below for more information on repair . org.

I have a 5 year old Acer that would load but Would freeze once it would open making it impossible to download anything. Any suggestions on how I can wipe out windows and load Linux?

Sorry I should have answered this as I have recently been experimenting with these types of things. The media players I have encountered in Linux are full of features and outclass anything found in windows.
