I've been looking into Kodi and have seen a bunch of Kodi setups that use Roku. Is this an okay idea, to use Roku with Kodi? Or is it better to set it up with your own remote?

I resurrected an HP DV6 with the black screen won't boot video processor issue by pulling the board & reflowing the video chip with a hot air gun. Got lucky and it finally booted back up. Wiped it and installed Linux Mint.

Still makes me chuckle.

I am just starting to investigate using Joplin to replace OneNote and Evernote. I am concerned with my information on their clouds. It looks like Joplin can use Dropbox or a private server to sync to all of my devices. I plan on trying to setup a server inside my network and use a VPN to connect to my network to Sync my devices remotely. It is also fully encrypted. The concept seems to work, but I have not tested yet.

I can not believe what I just posted. I am going to use Joplin and sync over my VPS. I had no idea what Linux, nextcloud a VPN or VPS was before Jeff started this group. Until the pandemic I was just a therapy dog volunteer and mom who lost sleep over big tech spying on us.
