Theirs if not changed will be living in a fake world "metaverse," in fear, being told what to think, closed in, eating bugs, family units destroyed. Addicted to and controlled by technology that drains the life from them
Ours is breaking away from 'big tech', achieving digital freedom, learning to refurbish, buy/sell/trade used tech devices, identify safe microchips, components, grow our own food, enjoy the real world with family. Technology used in practical ways to make our real world better.
We need to become skilled with AI because robotics are a security concern to our real world

I hear HP and Dell are good with Linux. I had Ubuntu installed on my HP laptop. Everything worked including my Logitech wireless mouse and Corsair wireless Headset. I now also have Ubuntu Budgie on a 2017 Lenovo laptop that was impossible to use because it was so slow. Windows had it so bogged down. It took forever for it to respond to even opening folder to view what was in it when trying to get data off it. It even blue screened on me once while I was get documents off of it. I thought for a bit I would not get the stuff off because it was running so badly. Now it is fast and smooth and does not crash. Everything works on it too.

I don't know where to ask this, but can I use any newer laptop, or it has to be an older one? For instance, I would like to use my pretty new HP Envy x360, which is probably 2 years old. It runs on Windows 10 with Intel Core i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80 GHz 1.99GHz. Thanks to your feedback! π

The entire Linux community is up to date on current technology, so yes. You can use a newer laptop. Linux also has what we call "generic" drivers to push most hardware. There are drivers centered around specific hardwares, and there are also proprietary drivers for things like Nvidia. Linux is usually out in front of technology. You would be amazed at how much current tech revolves around the Linux OS.

I just received my pixel 3a - degoogled, calyxOS - and it accepted the verizon sim card no problem. I am getting rid of my direct account with verizon though - just saying...MVNO maybe...

Also to note, if you are visually impaired like myself, there are applications out there such as Viacam that makes maneuvering in Linux easier. There are other applications and distros that also help folks with disabilities.
