Other popular screen sizes are 13.3 inches for smaller laptops, and 17.3 inches, for larger, "desktop replacement" laptops.

This channel teaches you how to escape 'big tech' tyranny and abuses by learning to use Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and the Linux Operating System. As it works great on both older, used machines and new hardware, Linux is your pathway to Digital Freedom!

My move to Linux was prompted by the information that Windows 11/Microsoft was going to hold on to login credentials instead of the user, and that an internet connection was required to use the system. The Windows Insider program hadn't really mentioned much about these "features" at all.

Hi! I'm new to this channel and eager to move my MSI laptop and Motorola Smartphone to Linux. If I must will purchase a better compatible laptop and phone to do this. I'm tired of the control of Big Tech. Where should I begin? I don't speak much "tech-nese" but willing to learn.

For mobile, i would recommend an unlocked pixel, and then look into CalyxOS.

Its probably best to start with the laptop first, back that up and change the operating system, then get used to it for a few days at least before also changing your phone. One change at a time.

I purchased a pixel 3 with Calyx on eBay. Battery isnt great but other than that I like it and its working well. Glad to be free from Google.

I just picked up a new Pixel 3a on ebay. I was hesitant that it was actually "new". That ended up being true and installed CalyxOS as well. The first time doing this and it was easy-peasy.
Breaking news from the Jeff.pro rumor mill: Facebook might announce a name change, as early as next week. (no kidding! the rumored name change was reported a few hours ago by 'the Verge', a tech blog.) -- JP.

Let us know, in this thread, what you think a good new name for them would be!! 🥳
Special note to the 400 Patriots enrolled in our Linux for Beginners ongoing course, your invitation to tonight's Wednesday Workshop (for 8:00p.m. tonight) was sent out about an hour ago by email.

Check your e-mail box for your invitation to tonight's Workshop, it will be a good one! Topic: Can't take me down! More Linux Super Powers: Host your own "Freedom of Speech" website that can't be taken down, with Wordpress, on up your own VPS server that you control, for pennies on the dollar compared to what your friends pay for web hosting!
Wow, look at this! Look at what the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey tweeted today around noon EST, apparently in response to the rumors that Facebook is going to announce a name change.

Is Jack telling everyone something? What do you think?

I use a pinephone and although it is not an I-phone, it certainly does work!! Yes there is a little more learning, but it's using FOSS and that is 100-times better than the bigtech prison. I guess it depends on your perspective? I'm in this to learn how to do things with FOSS and put bigtech in that little rear-view mirror. Cheers!!

a more fitting name would be 'Central Ignorance Corporation'
isn't that what corrupt companies do when they are in trouble? change their name?
They need to be erased from the internet imo

two cheap HP laptops here working well, wifi a bit tricky in one of them. Try a live distro and if things don't work properly, try another distro. Sometimes different flavors of the same distro are ok, depending of your hardware

Microsoft and google want to control and spy on everything about you including your email accounts. And they already do!

Here is a REPLAY audio recording of Jeff's Telegram voice call from September 23, 2021. On the call, he talked about what is being revealed about closed operating systems, and how to liberate yourself from "big tech" abuses by switching your technology to Linux. Then, two of our chat admins, Will Welker and Vasileios Kontodimas answered many of your questions about Linux.

We reflected on our great Technology chat room, it's one of a kind, already the biggest and best on Telegram after a short while!

Best wishes to you, Patriots, as you set out to discover the very exciting world of Free and Open Source technology. If you, like many other Americans who love their country, are ready to leave the spying and abuses of the "big tech" Windows/MacOS/Android operating systems, Linux is Digital Freedom!
