So…. Have a general question… What is the best password manager in your opinion??? And are there any thoughts on Dashlane? I am thinking of using them because they also have a built in VPN. Eventually I’m planning on making my own vpn. But for now, any thoughts?

Does anyone here have the freedom phone?
Is it a good option?

I went with the pinephone as a learning project!! Since we are all in the learning mode with linux, it made perfect sense to get a phone that you can learn with and from. It's not a RollsRoyce as today's phones go, but you have total control over everything about the phone. No bigtech influence, unless you're just a glutton for punishment :)

I have thousands of digital photos and have for years backed them up when upgrading computers, etc. A result of my haphazard process, I have many duplicates. Is there a program that can help me manage my photos and remove duplicates? I would like to have a copy on computer and a single backup. My plan would be to burn to DVD for longer term storage. thanks.

I took my 80+ year old mom's Win 10 laptop from her and gave her one with Ubuntu after I moved her email and browser. She said, "how come my computer is so fast tonight?" She loves it, and I'm not even sure I want to tell her we dumped Windows! Ha.

💡I posted this at forums.jeff.pro and thought some may be able to utilize it here as well:
"Not sure if you all are familiar with this, but if you have an email service you already like that is privacy centric, you could go with an email alias provider such as SimpleLogin. I have been checking them out since yesterday and I think I may give it a shot. Basically, it camouflages your personal email address with one of many aliases you can set up. The idea is to assist you in camouflaging your personal email address from OSINT databases that collect your data and sell your information for premium. The free subscription offers 15 aliases while the paid sub is unlimited..."

The hammer and the nail!! Last month Jeff asked me (us) a question about my (our) satisfaction with big tech. I could have tried to justify if I wanted, but, Apple decided to tell me at the same time that my privacy was theirs and I'd just have to love it!! Not so I screamed!! I replaced the MacOS with Mint - The hammer! Score one for the home team, However, that left the nice cushy, do everything I wanted, I-Phone! It fit so nicely in the palm of my hand :) I searched and found the pinephone - the nail!! Now my I-Phone is crying, literally begging me to stay - don't go, it whimpers! I can tell you what you need based on what you've done in the past After all, I know your every whim!! I closed the door and walked away a free man who's discovered the power of FOSS!!

I took my 2010 iMac and put Mint on it. The Mac hardware is still outstanding for driving the Linux OS. Stick with what you have and breathe new life into it

Absolutely! You'll be able to replace most everything with FOSS. May take a little relearning, but that's half the fun. iCloud is a nasty one, but Evolution or Thunderbird can get all of your mail. Download all of your pictures from iCLoud, then delete from iCloud. Music is another story but it can be done. You can fire Apple/Microsoft/Google?facebook and still live a very productive life!! LOL :) Just WIN!!
